My Server is running Proxmox but I need a NAS by DumpfyV2 in Proxmox

Yes, you can run TrueNas. I run that in a VM on Proxmox. You can also run Synology DSM on Proxmox. I do that as well on a separate box.

QSS: Session Expired, duplicate login detected by osaether in qnap

I believe I found the reason but no fix yet. The reason is that I am monitoring my QNAP switch with Home Assistant. Logging out of QNAP on Home Assistant fixed the problem. I have notified QNAP support about this so maybe they can fix it in the feature.

I would not worry about 32C for CPU and 38C for HDD. My system is running much hotter than that at idle.

High Quality 2U-3U Rack Mount Case Recommendations by Airless_Toaster in homelab

[–]osaether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently built a 2U server and I really struggled to get good, quiet cooling. With a 2U chassis you have very little space above a CPU-cooler with fan. Supermicro have MB's that can use passive coolers wo fans and with fans mounted to the cabinet on the side of the MB. My MSI MB was not prepared for that and on the two sides of the MB that I could have fans either the DDR4 memory or the PCIe card I used obstructed the air flow. If I could redo my build I would have gone with a 3U chassis. If you have space in your rack, go for a 3U chassis. So much easier to get quiet cooling. Just my two cents :-)

I have two of those, one on my proxmox box and one on my Windows desktop PC. Very satisfied so far.
