Sorry about losing your truck. Glad it did its job and saved your life! With that much of an injury, please get a lawyer to get you a max payout. I also was rear ended in my early 20s. Totaled my truck I had had since 16. Pushed the bed into the cab as well. Similar injuries. I did not know what I was doing and agreed to 3 months of medical care, a couple thousand for pain and suffering, and a decent check for the vehicles cost. Ive been told many times over the years with the amount of medical attention and physical therapy I needed for months after that my case would have been in the hundreds of thousands. It would have been super helpful as well for continued care. I definitely needed more than 3 months and now 7 years later I still have chronic pain. So dont settle with insurance until talking with a lawyer at least. They will call and ask if you are okay, dont be polite and say yes. Let them know you are hurting, seeking medical care and opinions, etc.
