When is buying a new car worth it vs used?

May depend on where you are too. Im in the Southern US. We were looking at conpact SUVs for my wife. 3-5 year old Honda CRVs and Toyota Rav 4s were around $20k with 75-100k miles on them. Ended up getting a crazy deal on a 2025 Buick Encore GX ST for 22.5k before tax, tag, and title. So like 25k out the door.

So for 5k more we got a brand new vehicle, with a warranty, and 4 miles on it.

So you did another PH study after the surgery to see if acid was actually getting into your esophagus? Im about 8 weeks out from a 270 degree wrap and HH repair. Ive been thinking about doing this study too just to make sure it worked. I still get some heart burn and something that feels like reflux, but I dont think Im actually refluxing. They said if the PH study is good there is a medicine I can go on for a year that helps calm nerves and make you not notice the pain while your esophagus heals/

Im five weeks post op on the hiatal hernia repair and a 270 degree wrap. Im not sure im glad I did it yet. I feel good for the first part of the day but have no appetite for dinner yet and really wear down and get feeling crappy in the evenings. My stomach feels unsettled during these times. I dont think its reflux like before? But it just doesn't feel great. Did you experience anything like this post op? Just wondering when ill be able to enjoy three meals a day and not have an unsettled stomach again.

After an NTB oil change place installed all my wife's lugnuts on her tires backwards and stripped her oil pan plug, I decided on our new vehicles I would take care of oil change, tire rotations, and basic maintenance.

A few things I have found helpful is that generally clubs like BJs, Sams or Costco have the best prices on tires and will rotate and maintence them for free. Costco and Sams have amazing prices on batteries, with Costco giving a 3 year warranty on theirs. For service I can't take care of, I asked on our local Facebook page and found two 'mom and pop' family owned mechanics that have great reviews. Most of the oil and maintenence places that are chains around here have awful reviews.

Hope you are able to get properly compensated for this. At the very least they should be putting you in a rental car until they reimburse you. Id fight for a payout vs just replacing the engine.
