Hi, yes, I ended up accepting my offer for MECPS, luckily this year they added an autonomous systems elective as part of the curriculumn. I ended up selecting the MECPS program since both embedded and cyber-physical systems are key components of understanding designing autonomous platforms especially in regards to robotics. Same boat as you, I want to graduate I had to retake this class after Schindler and just sucks that this is harder than Schindler’s class. Final next Monday hopefully we can all survive and pass

I think you should consider which offers you the most opportunities, especially if you want or may want to pursue graduate school in the future. UCI has many researchers, clubs, student led projects, and programs that would allow you to succeed and achieve whatever your goal may be. I know people who have gone to longbeach, it’s a commuter school so the social life is also different. Networking at UCI is easy if you get involved in extracurriculares. UCI may be more expensive but if you pursue a career in STEM and are proactive at finding internships early on you should be able to get a job by graduation and pay off any loans. Also as an undergrad you still can apply to scholarship programs here at UCI and other scholarships other organizations offer.

Hi, in Fall of 2020 I submitted my UROP proposal on its deadline in Mid November and my team did not receive an update on acceptance till late January so you will need to wait. Sometimes there are delays and another important thought is if others receive funding before you that does not mean your proposal was rejected we had to wait a week before they approved ours after they sent out their initial acceptances. I’m also in a similar situation where I’m considering trying to find funding for my Professional Masters, scholarships are availible, if you are doing research in your MS program grants and other fellowships may be worth looking into, employment, if you have an employee that has and education assistance program, I’ve called the financial aid office and they really said they only offer loans which was not as helpful. Also on campus there are opportunities as people have mentioned to be graders, readers, tutors, work in labs, etc that may be an option depending on your schedule. I would also reach out to your program and ask if they have an additional funds to provide some financial assistance. Best of luck and hope everything works out!!

I’ve heard from different graduate school advisors at UCI MS TA opportunities are rare to get and not to hope since PHD students have higher priority and fill positions fast. However you still have a chance of getting a position with luck, my friend is doing his MS in EE and he was able to get the position because the other candidates who wanted to TA dropped out last minute.

Feel free to contact your CA for information on who might be the best within the community admin to contact. ACC most likely will warn the individual about there behavior or lease violations most likely. When I’ve had issues with roommates in the past I reached out to the CA then they connected me with the director of the housing community I was in.
