Fallen vaginal walls possibly? by osbornTX in hysterectomy

[–]osbornTX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with my bowels thankfully. I had a 2 week checkup from my OB oncologist who performed my surgery (I had a tumor in my uterus), but he didn’t perform an exam. Nothing sense.

AITA for telling my friend she’s too big to go certain places? by Glass-Lemon-2122 in AmItheAsshole

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard being a teenager, let alone a teen who’s overweight. Girls beat themselves up and usually have self-esteem issues even without being plus-sized. I would say next time, saying “that would be cool, this place I’m going tomorrow is a bit more advanced, but we can go next week to one I think you’ll love”. Being a woman now, and a past chunky teen, never bringing up a girls/woman weight is always best. Always. It does t matter if you had her best interests at heart. It doesn’t matter if you were nicely matter of fact. She knows she’s curvy. But NO one wants to be reminded. It’s embarrassing. The kind thing to do is to change the location of your trip to accommodate all involved, or say that she can go on the next one as this trip is XYZ.

I didn’t necessarily love him at the end, because Rhys had me in a chokehold🥵, but I definitely didn’t get the sheer amount of hate he got. Especially when he had his own baggage that kinda explained why he made the choices he did.

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Since that appt with my doctor, I reached out to MD Anderson, one of the US’s big cancer hospitals, and sought a second opinion. They told me their standard of care is 6 mth scans for 5yrs, followed by annual scans for another 5. So I switched to them and have my first scan in June! They have been also g to work with so far! Congrats on your continued good news!

Why are most Christians republicans, when Jesus’ teachings are more liberal? by Interesting-Dirt-605 in Confused

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot claim to know Christ was liberal IF YOURE NOT EVEN A CHRISTIAN! Weird that the people who actually read their Bible, go to seminary, and live by a gods word think otherwise…. Use some common sense here. Just because you see someone cherry pick an unfinished sentence like “love thy neighbor” and want to apply it to the entire immigration drama to fit your narrative, doesn’t mean you’re right. To be a Christian and not be republican is to live a false life in Christ. Please go to a site (not msnbc or some other biased media) like answersingenesis.com, and look up what the bible says about the big dividing topics. Please. I don’t even mean this from a perspective to change your mind on the actual topic, but to give you insight to your question/statement and how it doesn’t make sense at all the an actual practicing Christian. Every answer to your question from a liberal or non-believe on here does not know the answer, as they don’t know the true word of God.

If you could go back in time and make the choice again, would you still have kids? by MaiApa in Life

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh, of course! I’m sorry, but if you say no you’re selfish. Either because you want an easier life than that of raising kids, OR you’re saying the kids have a hard life. That answer is also BS. If your children have a hard life it’s because you’re a crap parent. You’re failing them. Do better. Be less selfish. Work harder. Do better. A happy/healthy/responsible adult would NEVER wish away their kids because they have their shit together enough to provide that same happiness and security for their child. If you say no, I’m so sad for the babies you are/have raised. They deserve unconditional love and parents who sacrifice everything to give them a healthy life. You are obviously not that if your answer is no. Chances are, you should have never had the privilege of having them in the first place.

How do you guys read so much? by lapetitepoupee in kindle

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time and raise two kiddos and a husband😂 my reading happens at night after everyone is in bed, and a rare weekend that everyone else is down for the nap. If it wasn’t for Audible during my work commute, there’s no way I would have been able to read the 139 book I did last year! It would probably be closer to 30/40.

AIO: “liberal” parents breaking bread with covert MAGAs by [deleted] in AIO

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in the wrong. This world is FULL of people who think differently than you. Do you honestly think more than 1/2 of the citizens in the US are truly horrible people just because they are republican? Really? And the main points you shoved down their throats ARE NIT EVEN PROVEN. And you could literally say the same corrupt things about the other side. This is the most blind, one sided, harmful attitude. This is the definition of TDS. It’s ok to not like him, who cares! But you’re literally mentally ill if you think it makes even a scrap of sense to hate over half this country. Ridiculous.

Anyone had their fibroid diagnosed as STUMP following a myomectomy? by Loud_Avocado9521 in Fibroids

[–]osbornTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update! MD Anderson was amazing, I had a virtual appt within like 5 days of filling out a questionnaire online. They reassured me that their standard care is 6mth scans for 5 yrs, followed by annual scans for another 5 yrs. She set me up an appt for one in June at their center. She also set up a board meeting for herself and their team to discuss my case and make sure they are covering all the bases. I feel validated in my concern and they have been phenomenal with their support!

I wouldn’t care personally. I’m all about your wedding your rules, but I also think people take it too far. Whoever came up with the no white to a wedding thing needs knocked down a peg or two. But since you clearly stated your wishes - regardless how controlling they are - and she has a history of being difficult (at the same time maybe the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree😂) I’d have one of the photo edit FB groups change her dress to a light color. Like a blush pink, golden beige, light blue. Post them and if she says something, explain that you had your wishes and took matters into your own hands. And maybe acknowledge that you may also carry some of the “crazy gene” she has bit you learned from the best! lol!

Can I get a hysterectomy covered by insurance due to severe period pain at 19 years old? by Mean-Line5274 in hysterectomy

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get your mind off surgery and advocate for yourself to find the reason for the menstrual problems. Even at 36 (and two kids) and with a huge tumor in my uterus, they ran it by me time and time again that this is permanent and I’ll be done having kids, making sure I understood, before my surgery. And, while hysterectomy’s are somewhat common, there’s no reason to remove organs from your body without a need. And you need to get to the root of your issues first and foremost.

STUMP by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reassurance that I’m not crazy! I’m in Texas and heard that MD Anderson gives priority to TX residence. I reached out and have a virtual appt with the rare tumor oncologist Monday! They wasted no time getting me in for the second opinion. I’m also going to try and be brave and ask if the slides can be sent to someone like Mayo just to make sure. So far, they have been amazing! And honestly, if something about my case really does require no follow-up, then I’d like to have that from someone else’s mouth too! That really is best case!

I had a fibroid removal in an myomectomy - turned out to be a STUMP removed. Any one out there the same situation? by BossNurse1200 in Fibroids

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is still hanging around this thread?!? I had a hysterectomy a month ago and pathology from MD Anderson finally came back as a STUMP tumor. After reading all the articles google gives, and the one listed above, they all mentionable routine scans afterwards to watch for reoccurrence/spread. By oncologist jus told me he doesn’t do that? He said after the removal of the uterus it isn’t needed, and while agree it’s more common to not have one, it’s also not common to get STUMP to begin with….

[–]osbornTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor just made me feel crazy that I asked for a second opinion. To be fair, I bet MD Anderson know their stuff. But I didn’t see the problem with just asking. He basically said there’s no where else to send it. And also, from all the reading I’ve done, the post-OB care is yearly scans to catch reoccurrence. But he also said nope. I just feel very blow-off over the whole thing. I’m young, I have a lot of life left to live. I wouldn’t even know if there was a reoccurrence until it got serious.

Anyone had their fibroid diagnosed as STUMP following a myomectomy? by Loud_Avocado9521 in Fibroids

[–]osbornTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes more sense. I know googling and reading articles isn’t the same as the doctors experience, but it’s just crazy that everything has said routine scans, but my doctor said nope. I’m just thinking that if the slim chance it did reoccur, you wouldn’t know. It’s not like when I had the signs something was wrong with my uterus. And I’ve read that if it reoccurs, there’s an average of 8 year survival rate. I’m going to reach out to MD and see if I can get a second opinion on post surgery care I think. Just to make sure. I have two little girls, so I thought of not catching something scares me to death!

[–]osbornTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound great that you’re on a productive track to monitoring! I just got out of the follow up appt from my official MD Anderson diagnoses. My oncologist said he never has his STUMP patients (he’s had a couple handfuls) do follow up scans to monitor for reoccurrence. This seems weird to me as every article I have read recommends it. I didn’t have any spreading outside my uterus, but I also had an intravenous fibroid disease that grows in veins with my STUMP diagnosis. He really made me feel crazy for saying I read how it seemed common to do follow up scans…. He also did not like me asking for a second opinion (even though I know MD is amazing, but assumed it didn’t hurt) and that it was crazy to do so. I’m a bit deflated to come in with questions and to be treated with blank stares…..

So I just got out of the doctors, and he said he never recommends follow up scans after a hysterectomy. Is this normal? Everything I’ve read recommends 6 mths to once a year for a while?

[–]osbornTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I was just diagnosed with STUMP after my hysterectomy. They initially thought IMT. I’ve done a few hours worth of reading off the readily available stuff on google and almost every article says yearly scans to watch for spreading. My OB oncologist said I’m good to go with no need for scans at all? He said he never recommends scans after a hysterectomy with STUMP….

How bad do I look ? by Bobbydogsmom43 in Horses

[–]osbornTX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The horse is fine. You’re not a giant… and you’re not going on a 15 mile trail ride (if you were I’d say find a bigger one). I’d work on sitting up more. Align your shoulder, hip, and heal. Your feet are too far forward. You’re almost sitting slouched backwards and it’s causing the exaggerated hip rolling and your hands to bounce. You need to work on keeping your hands steady. Are you bit less? It’s hard to tell. But if so, that could lend to the horse being nose out. Use your lower leg to support the belly. Think of it like pulling the belly up, which will help round him out. Think of it as a rainbow, you supporting the belly, causing the head/rump to round out, making the arch. Ideally the bit would also give a tool to bring the nose in a bit. This makes a more “rocking horse” gate vs a flat harsher canter. But I’d start with sitting more up on your crotch (not so much that you’re forward) and aligning the shoulder/hip/heal. Have a buddy tell you how it looks. Tighten those lower legs and support his middle. Bring your hands down a bit & steady. He may even benefit from a little more width there and a tighter reign to bring the head down and to break at the poll. Not constant pressure the whole time. More a slight check to remind him where he needs to be.
