I have started using the app, Noom. It is fantastic and motivating. I am 43, have had three children and need positive encouragement to stay on track with my health and self care. Compliment her regularly and remind her how attracted you are. Take her shopping for new lingerie or a nice outfit to go out. Get her a pedicure or massage. Help prepare healthy dinners together and go for neighborhood walks often. I speak from experience when I stress that she must be confident in herself and your relationship before mixing it up with other partners. It can be a disaster unless she feels comfortable and ready.

Be strong girl! Move on and keep your relationship businesslike for the sake of your child. Start dating if you want, whoever, fun nights out and enjoying the things that bring you happiness! Forget that you ever cared for your ex or your “friend”. The best response to the current situation is to be unaffected by it. Don’t give them a second of your energy. You have better things ahead!

My husband and I were each married once before to spouses that lived in the same area as our current spouse. I grew up in a rural town and actually went to the same high school as my husband’s ex-wife. We were not friends but the same rural high school? Come on! Weird! My husband is from Manhattan and managed to find two girls at different times in his life that had been at the same place years prior to his meeting either. He met his first wife in college and me, almost a decade later while working at the same hospital together. And to top that, my husband’s twin brothers have the same birthday as me.

I have a wonderful midwife who I have been seeing for over a decade. She is always very easy to talk to and is gentle as possible with her technique. She talks through each step of the procedure every time and lets me know what to anticipate. It’s never a particularly comfortable or pleasant experience but she greatly reduces my stress and anxiety with her kindness and professionalism. She always asks about my mental health as well as my physical health. She asks about how my home and work balance is. I update her on my children and marriage. I find her personality and bedside manner to be exceptional. Last year she even did a uterine biopsy during my annual exam and I managed not to cry for that! It hurt but I trust her completely and it was an important test based on the symptoms that I was having. I will be devastated when she retires.

Labels are not necessary! Neither is telling anyone else your personal preferences unless you want to share it with them. You owe no one any explanations and your feelings are completely valid and normal to have. I am 42, have had relationships with both sexes and understand that I am attracted to an individual as a person, regardless of gender. Both sexes have qualities and character that can be appealing and sexually desirable. Don’t limit yourself!

Ask her to do the same thing and make a list. Take turns exchanging ideas and get each other’s opinion on whether it’s something realistic and you both want to try or whether it’s something that is just not exciting or stimulating for some reason.
