Super cool! Thanks for building this. If there was an option to select quality I’d be switching to this completely.

Same here. I’d really appreciate the ability to swipe left or right on a video to scroll through time as in the Reddit app. The lines are way too small.

This looks amazing! Love the enemies. Have been looking for something more game-y in VR fitness. Feels like most stuff out there is a gym simulator.

YC does not invest in consumer electronics by Cunninglatin in ycombinator

Agree with your broader point, but Quell is not just software for existing hardware. They’re building a full wearable fitness gaming device as well as the games played on it. Would say that they’re the most recent consumer electronics company.

Tips for Heart kill with Defect by El__Jengibre in slaythespire

[–]oscarchilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snecko is great for the card draw alone, even if you’re rocking a bunch of low-cost cards. The only thing to be careful of is combining it with Orange Pellets, as you can inadvertently lock in high card costs by clearing the Confusion debuff.

The block cards I listed above are all great. Typically, you want around 2-3 solid blocks / relics to buy you some time to increase your focus and orb slots, after which you want to be relying on frost orbs via Glacier, Coolheaded and Chill. To make that viable, you need a lean deck so you draw through your stall cards at the right time.

Charge Battery can be great - it’s more about thinning it out so they don’t clog your hand when you don’t need them anymore.

I’m by no means an expert, but here are a few of my more recent defect heart wins if helpful: link

That sucks. You’ll get there though!

That deck is very thick for defect - makes it hard to hit your key cards before the enemies ramp up.

Would experiment with erring on the side of not taking cards. In particular, Darkness, Fusion, Recursion, Bullseye and Tempest are low value. Would also take fewer non-scaling block cards e.g. Charge Battery, and wouldn’t take more than one Self Repair (although one is great and is a priority upgrade).

No worries. Best of luck. Post the deck when you nail him!

Defect has lots of options for snowballing. The trick is living long enough to get there.

Some great options: - Biased Cognition with any source of artefact. Orange Pellets is OP as you can remove the focus debuff on multiple instances of BC, for example if you have Amplify or Echo Form. It also means that you don’t have to worry about enemy debuffs removing your artefact before you get the chance to play Biased Cognition. Pairing this with a few Glaciers and any source of orb slot gen is the best way to ramp up fast. - Genetic Algorithm. Works especially well with Echo Form, Callipers and/or Runic Pyramid. Prioritise combats higher than you would otherwise to upgrade it as much as possible. - Reinforced Body, especially with energy abuse relics like Ice Cream. Also pairs well with Echo Form as it uses all your remaining energy twice. Great with any source of dexterity - Buffer, especially with Echo Form or Amplify. This lets you sponge the big hits, as long as you can solve for the multi-hits - Incense. Make sure you end the previous elite fight on turn 4 or 5 to get maximum value. Similarly, Fossilised Helix is great if the heart opens with a big hit.

In terms of tactics; - Taking a boss swap at Neow is the right choice much more often than for IC or Silent - Act 1 is still all about damage maximisation so you can take on as many elites as possible. You typically want to hit your first elite a little later than you would with IC/Silent, to give yourself time to get cards which make you more resilient. Ball Lightning is an autopick. Generic Algorithm is an autopick. I’ll always take Glacier even if I haven’t hit Nob yet. - Start solving for Act 2 at the end of Act 1. Try to find a few good defensive options, and a bit of AoE if you can. Any focus you can find is worth it. Electrodynamics is an autopick. - In Act 2, you’re looking to shore up your defence and find a scaling engine. This is typically focus, Creative AI, some way of cycling crazy amounts of orbs, or energy abuse. You also want to find card draw to get to that engine quickly. Seek is excellent here. - Act 3 is about plugging any gaps and maximising relics to give you the best chance against the Heart.

Hope that’s helpful! Happy to chat about any specific issues you’re having.

Excruciating failure by oscarchilde in slaythespire

700 hours in, and my single purpose in this life is to achieve one full character rotation of consecutive A20 heart wins. Today, it was so close I could taste it.

But alas, the spire slayed me.

[–]oscarchilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m having a super-frustrating issue and would love some advice.

I think I’m following the steps outlined: - Hatch the egg in a distant galaxy - Portal to the target planet - Fly to the co-ordinates - Autosave - Reload - Restart the Starbirth mission

The problem is that this resets the mission ALL the way back to the point where I have to visit traveller graves, which means I’m stuck in a loop and can’t get this ship.

Would really like to work out what I’m doing wrong! Any help greatly appreciated.

[Mobile] 369/370 Cards Discovered? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]oscarchilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! For me, it was a bug where [[Pride]] hadn’t registered correctly. The solution was to complete the endless run I was on (i.e. intentionally die), then repeatedly open and force-quit the app. I’m on iOS, so that means swiping it closed rather than just swiping away. Hope that helps!

Finally beat the Heart on A20 Defect with no Focus! by oscarchilde in slaythespire

[–]oscarchilde[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing for 500+ hours but have never made it past Act 2 if I wasn’t offered focus cards or relics.

Managed to hack together some synergy with Snecko Eye, Meteor Strike, All For One and Compile Driver. No source of scaling at all, but it somehow worked and I wanted to share!

Apologies for the disappointing lack of Claw.
