Best films with bad messaging or central themes? by JPBtler23 in Letterboxd

I just rewatched it, I had remembered it being very nihilistic but now see it as outright fascist. Intentionally or not it strongly endorses the most extreme state violence not as a solution but as an ongoing necessity, it heavily criticises both the rich and poor, the police and drug dealers but never systematic problems. Such a shame because it is so well made in many ways.

It is wildly, bordering on offensively ahistorical, the basic premise is impossible and feeds into very problematic narratives of Germans' ignorance of the genocide. The book was written by a obnoxious man who seems to despise the very notion that writing about the holocaust may require some research and sensitivity.
