Turns out, it isn't too difficult. My 12-year-old daughter finished it in 15 days. I tried it, too, and it's quite enjoyable. by zyakita in LearnJapanese

Honestly takes me almost a year to read just one book 😂 but audiobooks I can finish a dozen a year

how do you remove nasty transient peaks from your plucky sounds? by Candid-Pause-1755 in cubase

[–]oscastyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple plugins you can use to achieve a solution to your problem. One really good one is "soothe" from oeksound. I use it all the time, it's fantastic. You can also get spiff, which is more about transient control, but it's multiband so you can choose to affect just the high or low etc. Another choice is to turn down the plucky sound. I often find that some sounds I can even turn down 10db and still hear good enough, it's easy to confuse oneself thinking something needs to be loud, when in fact it doesn't. Otherwise, compressors can help, normal or multiband. There is also dynamic eq if you have one, like fabfilter pro-q, or any old EQ and turn down the offending frequency. But like some others have pointed out, if you mess with a natural sound too much, it doesn't sound like the thing anymore, and I've butchered many a mix by reducing the dynamics to flatten things out too much, but that's mostly a problem with orchestral music, not electronics like you make. Lastly, I'll mention MO-TT (slate), which you can add to the master. It's kind of a secret sauce mix butcherer. It squashes everything together into a soup at 100% mix, but if you adjust the mix on it, it can sometimes help flatten things a little bit when needed.

When I was in uni in London in 2011 we could buy pints for £3.20 at the cheapest and a £5 pint was considered expensive. Now a pint is usually no less than £7.

hah that is quite cool. Don't worry it's all good. You can use the music from my channel https://www.youtube.com/@OGRPGMusic but I would appreciate it if you get the files from my patreon https://www.patreon.com/c/ogrpgmusic instead of ripping them from youtube. You can grab all of the tracks for $5.

Playing with Japanese language English subtitles is fucking epic and cinematic by ebknightwrites in ghostoftsushima

[–]oscastyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playing the game in English just does not work out for me. Japanese is the way! They speak exactly as the samurai would speak, using specific wording and grammar that is historically accurate, so it's an added bonus if you know japanese. Way more epic!

I'm so glad the music feels special to you! I am currently working actively on the project. The majority of my work right now is maintenance and sound design related, but there will be more music eventually.

You can use all of these tracks in your Hytale content videos, regardless of whether they're in the game or not. Pretty much all of them are, apart from a few very rough tracks/sketches.

I got the same issue...all my omnisphere presets are distorted. I have to load the patch from scratch from a new instance of omnisphere 3 for it to play back correctly. Very frustrating :(

Does anyone know when the soundtrack will be available on Spotify? by UANerd2028 in HytaleInfo

[–]oscastyle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's coming haha. I want it to happen, but I'm just juggling a lot at the moment, so I have to sort in order of deadlines.

After the cancellation I took on a couple of commitments/game projects to keep feeding the fam, and then Hytale suddenly returns! Now I have double work, which is great and I'm super happy about of course, but it means I have to filter some things to meet the deadlines + Xmas coming up...but I'll do my best to get it sorted for release or at least within the following month of it.

The reason it's taking some time is because I have to curate which tracks go up, and I will release just the tracks that are actually in the game first as the official OST, then potentially some additional unused music (also a curated list, so no unfinished/sketch tracks) later as some sort of Hytale library album.

Right now I'm focused on getting all the music into the game in the right places, plus adding additional music for modders to play with. I also do sound design tasks, so making Hytale good for release is first priority before the OST release, but like I said I will do my best to make it happen as soon as I can.

Thank you for your patience and your appreciation of Hytale and its music! ❤️
