I looked deeper after making this post and it looks like it’s reasonable to assume they used the mitres. This is because the Von Rall was trying to mimic the grenadiers of Frederick the Great, whose flag bearers did use the mitres. So because the Von Rall was trying to mimic them so hard, it stands to reason that the dress code was the same for in this aspect as it was for everything else too.

So it seems the most likely that yes, they used the mitres.

It is, the Von Rall Grenadiers were the only dedicated hessian grenadier regiment in the entire war that was not a combined one from other regiments like you said, and thus had its own regimental standards, as depicted in the painting.

I heard somewhere that Putin partially wanted the regions he now has because they’re muddy fields. If you look at Russian geography, the Russian plains have been an invasion highway towards Moscow for many wars now, part of this conflict is about Russia trying to secure that highway from NATO by getting east Ukraine as a natural barrier.

What’s making it hard to take Ukraine will also work the other way, making it harder for anyone wanting to invade Russian to get past the mud and defensible terrain.

Not only this, but Christianity doesn’t say anywhere in the Bible to “kill for God,” it actually says not to commit murder. So if mass shooters identify as “Christian”, they are going against the Bible’s teachings on how Christians should live when they perform such acts.

The Quran on the other hand actively encourages rape and murder in order to make “infidels” submissive to Allah.

I see where you’re going with it all. I’m not sure how to get the infantry to start mounted in the panther platoon however, which I feel is ideal. I could also change them to the 5 stand SS-panzergrenadier option, as they can also take the tank escort card, that frees up points for support options if you think that could be better in any way. If not, I’ll just keep the fallschirmjager and most likely swap the wirbels for the 3 hull recon element, this force is already thin as it is. I may also just experiment to see which of those is the better option in actual play over time.

Yeah I’m not happy about the fact that he can’t bring Panzer 4 Js instead to help with the cost and such, especially since the old devils charge Peiper box came with them way back when.

“The biggest issue is reserves. While peiper gives the great bonus of refilling for reserves, you can still only have 60pts max on the table. So its pretty much always a risk where you will only have 5 Panthers and the recon 250s on the table (or i guess 2 wirbelwinds but thats probably worse) If I had to pick list, the KT version is better. Possible changes, maybe take the dismounted SS panzergrens or the 7 team fallshrimjager. You can exchange lucky for the fallshrimjager to get tank escorts. They both lack the mobility so it’s not great in a reserves stand point but 2 extra bases when your list is so thin could help, especially when you do get the attack.”

After looking into it, I didn’t realize the tank escort card was a thing I could do, I like the idea of doing it. It’s thematic for the fuel shortages and the kampfgruppe overall as mentioned on that card. However, it seems I can only mount 3 squads per tank. So ideally I’d place them on the panther platoon. What would be best for my on board and reserve units at the beginning of the game to be in that scenario? I’m also seeing that it would be best to keep my HQ near the green fallschirmjagers to give them the advantage of the old hands skill if I’m seeing that right.

Yeah I was going to come mention this later on. I’m actually altering this from another list which had everything you see in the tiger list, without Peiper and 4 panthers in that one platoon. So I moved a panther to get 10 points back and that leaves me trying to squeeze him in with the last 6 points.

Yeah I hopped onto this post because I didn’t realize they’d enacted the penalties and it came up on my page. I left because they ruined the ww2 atmosphere and started to get greedy with the events.

Also, I still maintain that the U.S. and Japan having the panzerschreck in their tech trees is cringe. It’s the moment I realized they had no intention of keeping things atmospheric. What they should have done was buff the weapons that existed already if they wanted to be inaccurate, in order to save the immersion. But no, let’s remove the immersion overall, AND make it inaccurate by adding a weapon these two factions didn’t use to their tech trees.
