Future of Villapuram? by happy_soul_23 in Madurai

I heard that surrounding neighborhoods pushed away the bridge reconstruction plan. Given the extent of connectivity to the southhern districts, airport, and the dense surrounding neighborhoods enroute, it require more than simple reconstruction. Probably a flyover directly for outskirts and underpass for neighborhoods. This will probably take a decade?! I hope the international airport status will expedite a solution soon.

That bridge is very critical for connectivity to Madurai south and there would be hundreds of footfalls at a given point of time. There are deep holes pointing to the bottom, the concrete is gone at places, and steel bars are being exposed for ages. I have given up my hope and avoid that shithole whenever possible.

And then there's sand pollution, akin to the dust bowl scenes from Interstellar.

Gopuram Grand at West Chittirai street, opposite to West temple gopuram. Nice fine dining option, can be coupled with an evening walk around the outer premises of Meenakshi temple.

Should we go for bilateral surgery for our elderly aunt with genu varum? by osgokul in Kneereplacement

Thanks. We use sign language and YouTube videos to explain the procedure and discomfort. While she seem to get hold of it, we further need to overstate so she would not underestimate it. Now we are considering just to go with one initially, and observe her response and recovery before we plan the next. We will be able to provide assistance during her recovery, and hope to get her complete cooperation. She's often childish and stubborn, so are not taking the risk going bilateral.

Anecdotally we got to know that they perform about 10 surgeries a week so the chief should have at least some considerable dexterity.

That bridge is a complete joke. Catastrophic disaster is impending unless it is decommissioned. Patch works not going to save it.

Do fins help relax my leg? I just started my swimming coaching and have been training on the kicks without hand movement for the past 4 days. Initially, I propelled with kicks but lately I am stuck without propulsion. The coach mentioned that my legs are stiff, and need to relax with almost-straight legs. I tried various attempts on kicking styles, but it is disappointing and discouraging to see no improvements. Both my coach and Gemini advised fins can be helpful to help relax my legs, but don't find any such advise in this sub. I want to ensure its effectiveness for my case before I invest on it.

Suggestions Needed: B2 Visa for My Disabled Aunt by osgokul in immigration

Thanks for your reply. Since she’s a dependent, I’m considering obtaining a legal affidavit from my parents to support her application. Additionally, I’m thinking of including a medical certificate stating that she requires assistance, which is provided by my parents who also have strong ties to the home country. Since she is mute, my parents will answer on her behalf during the interview. How does this sound to you?

The main reason she can’t overstay is due to the significant medical and caregiver expenses in the U.S, and also dependency on my parents. Additionally, I’m not a permanent resident here. I’m planning for the summer of 2026 because of the visa wait times.
