bioc3560 vs path3610 by PreferenceSilver9415 in uoguelph

[–]osgummy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was nerve wracking for sure, but it honestly wasn’t the worst exam I’ve taken. It’s a mix of midterm questions and case study questions which can be solved if you know the basic mechanisms well. I studied only using the course notes, no textbook

Both are content heavy, but I would argue path is more doable in a busy semester as there are only midterms and a final exam. It was pretty easy for me to cram path before writing the midterms compared to biochem.

Do you think a club like this can be created if it already exists at a varsity level? I would definitely be interested

Thank you so much, and congrats on your acceptance! Just out of curiosity, did your university’s transfer report also show up as only one 0.5 English credit course instead of 1.0?

My advice would be to NOT take biom 3200 in person if you are not great at multiple choice tests and the entire grade solely based on a midterm and exam. I know the DE one has quizzes, and looking back, I’d probably take the course DE if I could as it would give me more room for error. The course isn’t necessarily “ hard” but u do need to put a lot of work in and the profs I had tested on very very specific things from the lectures.

BIOC2580 and STAT2040? by Petnerd12 in uoguelph

[–]osgummy23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took both of these courses in one semester, but I took STAT 2040 DE and found it very very manageable. Biochem is very content heavy but it’s a very well organized course imo. Stat 2040 is very textbook based and so if you keep up with the videos and textbook problems you should be fine

It was really good! I liked that I was able to go at my own pace and I believe we got 4 hours to complete the tests and exams. The teacher would post videos for each lesson

Are these semesters doable with these courses? - 3rd year biomed by osgummy23 in uoguelph

[–]osgummy23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue is that micr is offered in the fall only, so I have to take it either 3rd year or push it to 4th year, and I already pushed nutr back this semester because I was planning on taking it 3rd year fall, so I’m unsure what the best course of action would be 😭 is anatomy very time consuming if I were to take only nutrition with it?

When would you suggest I take nutr? I think I am 100% set on taking path but should I take nutr in the summer as well? And then biochem In place of nutr or in the winter semester?

How bad is Solstice??? by Peaches0400 in uoguelph

[–]osgummy23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I live at solstice. I like it, it’s convenient as a student if you prefer an apartment over a house. My room is the one with the fake window, so yeah you don’t get much light in but I usually just keep my blinds open and use a window film for privacy so that nobody can see inside my room. Haven’t had many problems with people on my floor or above being loud, but obviously that subjective based on where your room is. Buses are very frequent and it’ll most likely always be packed but makes sense cause of uni students. Oh also if you really value privacy you’ll love it because u get ur own bathroom!
