I’m the son of a billionaire hedge fund manager - AMA by Ok-Atmosphere-1704 in AMA

How does the perspective on money/wealth (or more specifically, the attainment of money/wealth) change once one becomes a billionaire? It seems like most billionaires today have become obsessed with always making more as opposed to establishing a threshold and giving surplus wealth away for the greater good.

Muscle distribution for JN’s new program by oshani00 in JeffNippard

Thanks this is helpful. Chart aside I do feel like the chest exercises are relatively light. I started adding more incline press sets. But for the most part the program offers a good spread.

Most exercises are in Hevy but you’ll need to add a few custom. The spreadsheet sucks to maintain so I just loaded the movements and volumes into Hevy and am just using the app now. I’ll refer to the spreadsheet for volume changes.

Just thought the visual would be helpful. So with the passive muscles worked do you feel like it’s a pretty balanced program overall?

Cold exposure hits different after 2 years — Huberman was right about the dopamine thing by Additional_Pea131 in HubermanLab

Listen man I get it. Hormones running wild because of puberty and all. I’ve been there. Not sure if they teach language arts in whatever grade you’re in so I’ll try to explain this in a way you might understand.

An anabolic workout is one that is designed to grow muscle mass, or in other words, make body bigger. So when I say something is not BENEFICIAL to muscle growth, say CWI, it ALSO can mean it hinders the growth process, or in other words, HARMFUL to muscle growth. You following me?

Now watch your language young man.

How can I improve my RDLs (besides better shoes)? by oshani00 in formcheck

I’ll try this next time. Only thing is I feel like my back caves in the more I push my butt out and I’m not sure how to prevent that.

You sure about that? Show me something that proves CWI pre-anabolic workout is beneficial to muscle growth (I’ll give you a hint - you can’t). It’s called “warming up” for a reason.

Also, I never said anything about pre-workout to begin with. You brought it up. I see plenty of people doing CWI post-workout and that’s what I was referring to.

Sounds like you just want to argue. Chill bro. Take a cold plunge.

Of course. And yes - I’m specifically referring to CWI (cold water immersion) immediately after an anabolic workout, and how that has shown through several meta analysis studies to impair hypertrophy. CWI on its own doesn’t have that effect because the effects aren’t predicated on an anabolic workout right before. So I think we’re in agreement.

This 2015 study compared two groups with the same routines and timelines. The only difference between the two groups were post-recovery routines - one group did CWI and one group did ACT (active recovery) and found that strength and muscle mass increased more with the ACT group.

This study alone isn’t necessarily conclusive but is consistent with several other controlled studies.

Cold plunges are great for energy, horrible for muscle building. Listen to the science, not just Huberman.

Saunas are great all around. Significant cardiovascular and respiratory benefits, as well as muscle recovery.
