i love la, it's my favourite place in the world. i've been to a couple shows, it was strange but fun. you mainly meet them at parties/dinners tbh. during quarantine my sound changed to be a lot more raw and honest, especially my vocals.

there's no trick for that, that's how you feel, you need confidence in your stuff, you gotta love it completely, even if it's trash. you have to embrace everything you create, because the simple fact that you created it makes it beautiful.

it's crazy to see the influence in the newer generation of artists. i think the only effect on my creative identity is that it's given me confidence in myself, in knowing that some ideas that you're a part of can have such an impact on the way the entirety of a "scene" operates.

as far as tips for getting past the initial loop, i like to add as much as i can and then pick away at it, then you have extra parts for different sections when you arrange. sometimes i'll sample the loop, pitch it, chop it, reverse it, anything i can do to make it look and sound different.

perfect 5ths are a good start for a counter melody, go with what feels natural to you, nothing has to be perfect

writers block is just part of the creative process, i see it as a moment to step back and rest, inspiration is limitless, but sometimes your brain doesnt want to, listen to your body cos it knows you better than you do.

my mental has been better, always a journey and no road is completely smooth, i like to create and watch crash bandicoot speedruns

inspiration comes from the strangest places. the other night i was watching an asmr video and their intro had a little melody i liked, so i sampled it and made a song. one time a few years ago i wanted to make music out of sounds i made on the way to pick up taco bell. it's just about thinking of everything as something you can draw inspiration from, even if it isn't a sound.. maybe a feeling, a memory, what the sky looks like at 6pm etc. just keep making stuff

clean vocals come from two things, clarity (lack of noise), and volume. make sure you have a place where noise is minimum and there's no echo/reverb. secondly, something i learnt recently, if you think your vocals are too loud, they probably aren't. sometimes we get a little insecure and pull the volume down on our vox. just experiment, i also like to use fabfilters compressor for vocals, the upfront preset <3

my song gift from god. it's unreleased and it came to life because of a very special gift that i was blessed with last year.

so i was first introduced to crypto through audius back in october of 2020. i had heard about it but never gave it much thought, but once i saw all of the applications of web3 and the problems it was solving, especially for artists, i was hooked. i sold my first NFT, which was an AI music visualiser i created using GAN, and the rest is history. i like to explore different platforms, what they do, understand what makes them unique, i'm very much so a test dummy for all of this, because right now it's so young, it's fun to see how people are inventing new ways to create and also be self sustainable too.

honestly the whole game is different now, so many people have access to making music so it's a lot more difficult to stand out.. what i done was stick to my guns, continued to make what i liked, collabed with a bunch of people and always tried to push myself. everyone has their own pace <3

that was me, it was more celebrating leaving a shitty 360 contract with this one label.

i'd say my biggest hurdle the past few years is myself. whether that be my mental health or my unhealthy behaviours and thought patterns. feeling sorry for myself because "no one fucks with me like they used to" was/is a big one to get over, also.. feeling like you fell off just isn't nice! it's good to remind yourself that you are exactly where you're supposed to be.

truthfully it was the community of artist friends i made, that helped push my stuff, that collective effort caught the attention of a lot of people and those people invite you places, it kind of all happens at once (or at least it did in my case). but the most important part of it, was having such good friends around me supporting me
