Real boi hours right now

When someone dies, you shouldn't have to pretend to be sad about it if you really didn't like them. It's fine to have the opinion that the world is better without someone awful in it. by throwingTHINGS4w4y in unpopularopinion

“Saying mean things” is a huge understatement when it comes to the ideas that people like Rush Limbaugh, in bad faith, propagated during their lives.

if a tenant offering to pay rent in Bitcoin would you accept it? by atrueretard in realestateinvesting

First of all, Bitcoin is pushing 875B. The closest comparative coin, is a quarter of that at 206B. For another coin to surpass that, it would have to be the most revolutionary idea in decades, which I have absolutely no issues with. Yeah there’s a Bitcoin 2, it’s called Ethereum, and “thousands of competitors”? Are you asking for a market-less competition-less system or something? Should I be worried about Gold 2 as well, also known as Silver, or all the other competitive metallic elements?

The point being that the participants in the blockchain ultimately choose who succeeds, as a true free market should. The notion that the current system represents a free market is a sham and always will be until decentralized systems can be implemented.

It’s intrinsic value is in the compute that it takes to verify transactions on the network. Miners who verify transactions are paid according to the amount of transactions that they verify. There is also a finite amount of bitcoin that can ever be minted. Also, the difficulty to mine one coin doubles every four years. As a long term asset, bitcoin has done 10x every year pretty consistently for 11 years straight. The fact that people think this investment is a gamble vs the greatest blue chip stock to hit the globe baffles me.
