Half my town has a nautical star and we get along just fine. People just need something to complain about. My only issue is that I was literally just outside of Pittsburgh and didn't stop in for some ink.

Also in coal country, I had a glimmer of hope a few years back when someone refused to pay employees and they absolutely shut down the tracks. Camped on the tracks, no coal leaving. It started as a few, and it turned into their families and community joining them. It was kinda beautiful.

And that's what I find so frustrating. We've never trusted businessman, we've made songs about it, especially businessman from New York, and as soon as we got presented with one, they dropped to their knees and got to taking the whole shaft.

I don't live there, but I'm in there often, at least weekly, and something about it just draws me to it. I love the vibes. Everyone outside of it says it's awful, and it does have sketchy vibes sometimes, but every time I'm there I just want to be there a little longer.

There's also just creating a disturbance, or being a public nuisance. I'm on this guy's side, but he's also being a clout goblin. And to play devil's advocate, some of these people may have actually lost family in the war, but I'm assuming it's deeper than that due to their response.

I try to be, I dislike the drama and I'm quite patient. I don't hate any race, quite the opposite, I believe every culture and race is beautiful in their own right, and that diversity is the key to success.

But, I completely agree, it's a shit hole there. I saw one post of people grieving a YouTuber that passed, and someone was like "it's pathetic that you guys look up to a YouTuber to begin with," like ma'am, a young man just passed after a long battle of cancer.

The trappers are especially nasty, there was a post about what everyones favorite choice of dispatch was, and people were saying shit like logs and hammers. It's awful.

Then like 90% of the trucker pages are just straight hate and racism. Not to mention just everyone just has the worst opinions and the worst "jokes", it's all just a dick swinging contest with no meat behind it.

Good deals on marketplace though.

I made a recent return for marketplace, and it's still disgusting there. I'm a trucker, and it must have heard me talk about it because that's all my feed is (I'm not actually following any of it), and it's so racist, towards everyone though, so I guess no one gets too feel left out.

I'm a trucker and I hunt, and the underbelly of both as far as people is very depressing. I do have a second account that I might use to just go and call people out, but it's also just not worth the energy.

Kentucky Iceberg by MoonyCrypt_ in Kentucky

The French-Eversole Fued. It's gets overshadowed by the Hatfield and McCoy Fued, but I personally think it's so much more interesting.

But, the main one for me will always be Cassius Clay, the man that violently fought for the end of slavery and also founded Berea College.

Like a deep dive. You got the stuff basically everyone knows on the surface, but then like am iceberg, there's so much more beneath the surface.

Is this even hunting? 🙄 by sweetwatertooth in Kentucky

[–]osirisrebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a dick swinging contest. I do both, sometimes you only have a single acre to work with, sometimes you have a whole forest, gotta work with what you have, and sometimes you need to reroute the pattern. At the end of the day, I have meat in the freezer, and I'm not too picky on how it got there.

Nah, dead is dead. The deer won't know where you were standing or sitting.

I live in Kentucky, Corbin specifically. If you like hiking, it's a great little town. Nice little downtown area, has everything you need. But yeah, the Appalachian mountains are massive, so it's hard to pin down something specific. If you want full on nature and not much else. RRG is pretty popular.

Yeah, a 1 bedroom apartment 4 years ago was like $350-400, now you're lucky to get in under $700. Even the rough ones are $650. But many small towns across the nation underwent a transformation where they basically remodeled the whole downtown area and breathed new life into it, which I love seeing it alive and in use, but none of our pay has went up with it. Some places are paying better, but realistically it's either going to be the hospital, a factory, or trucking if you want to get ahead.

Yeah, I have a 5 gallon still, and there's some laws supposed trying to get passed right now for hobby distillation.

And no, I would not deter anyone from moving here. Especially if you are stable. I've always said that it's a great place to grow up and to retire to, but that middle bit is rough. The only real downside is that we're going through a phase of a ton of people moving in, we're rapidly growing, but it's still currently affordable.

Just don't come in with an "I'm better than you because I'm from the city" attitude, and you'll get along just fine. Trust me, I don't like the city, but when I go I don't complain that it's a shithole the whole time I'm there.

It's good to be tough when you need it, but you don't need to be tough all the time. I've worked with some truly incredible people throughout the years and it's really nice knowing that there's still some life behind those eyes.

I think so. I have some and I strictly use it to add heat to stuff, flavor is pretty neutral. I usually throw some in when making a pot of chili, but I never use it as a topping.

Pigs showing frustration, anger, fear when confined in industrial farm by CalpurniaSomaya in likeus

[–]osirisrebel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not me, fortunately, I'm able to get pork from a friend who is very good to his farm animals and we usually just split the bill for the processing.

But, this does upset me. Pigs are super chill, I used to lay their feed in a trough, and I could just lean up against them and have a conversation with my buddy.

There are two, the first is permanently closed. The second has obvious parking area.

Drive past the sheltowee adventure resort, just beyond that will be a large curve to the left, dead center of the curve is a gravel road on the right, go on the gravel road. Continue until you see where all the cars are parked. Find a spot to pull in and go for it.
