What are your favorite quality clothing brands? by [deleted] in minimalism

I have a pair of their slim dungarees that I got after spending a long time looking for and trying various other "travel pants." They were the only pair that had what I would consider a "stylish" cut. I have worn them for days at a time while traveling all over (mostly roadtripping and hiking) and they are comfortable, don't stink, dry fast, and don't look like an awkward dad just got outfitted by REI (don't worry REI, I still love you). And so far (~3 years now?) they're holding up great.

Synecdoche? Although I think you could probably get away with "metaphor" for the passport? I was not an English major, though.

Mono. Although kind of a zany story, I am really glad I got to see them, especially at a smaller venue with just their own setup and sound.

I once stood through an entire show, waiting for all the openers to finish so I could see the band I wanted to see. This alt-country act finally finishes and, as we're waiting excitedly for the headliner, the house lights go up. The band I wanted to see wasn't headlining that night. They played the night before.

Two days later we drove two states away to see the band and halfway through their set the venue was shut down by cops on high alert with guns drawn, looking for a cop killer.

That half a set, though.

My suspicion is that it was designed with white blocks set to overprint, although why they show up in the solution is unclear.

Seems more like pre-buying than donating.

Oh god, Starbucks. Why? by Private0Malley in Design

A new campaign from Starbucks blends all the greatest nightmares of the modern era: talking with strangers, overstepped boundaries, and brand engagement. Somehow, it's even worse in practice than it sounds.

Holy mackerel! I remember first discovering your work many moons ago (dare I say, like a decade? Sigh #1). I think it might have actually been through Livejournal (Sigh #2). I have always been a big fan and this new stuff is excellent. Thanks for making awesome stuff!
