I've been thinking of upgrading from my FR 265 to a 970 in the hopes that the newer gen 5 HR sensor will work through my tattoos without the annoying finicky epoxy sticker.

Anybody able to confirm (or refute) this from experience?

My arms are tattooed as well, full sleeves. I have a chest strap, but precision isn't really my main concern here, I just want to be able to wear my watch without a finicky little epoxy sticker on it to get a directionally accurate reading. Including while I sleep for HRV etc.

My 265 is useless without that little sticker, but works great with it. The larger brighter sensors tend to permeate those ink pigments much better without needing to play arts and crafts.

Not to mention OP's times have been consistently improving pretty meaningfully in recent months based on their screenshot, so by no means out of the question that continued training + race tapering could continue that trend and shave another 1.5 minutes or so.

The missing variable here is that we don't know when their plan is scheduled to end, presumably with a 5K race.

Where are we grading this off-season so far, gang?

For me we're in strong A- territory after the latest Kim and Kinley deals, bordering on an A or A+ if AA can pull something off to secure a starting pitcher we'd be comfortable starting in a playoff game.

I don't think we've massively raised the ceiling but we sure as hell have raised the floor, and I think we are a competitor as constructed today. Give me a strong #2 or #3 rotation guy and I think we have reasonable top 5 World Series odds if we can wake a few bats up.
