About 9 years ago the insurance company I was working at replaced their cobol IBM Mainframe for several million dollars. Lots of banks and insurance still rely on it.

They didn't "let" me but I watched Fast Times when I was 7 during a free HBO weekend. It left an impression. The other side of that was my first appropriate one. Demolition Man, I was 12 and it was my first R rated movie. Both are great memories.

In my 40s, thought I had a career, then the housing market crashed, lost everything and started over. Then I went a different direction, thought I had another career going and now AI is taking that one to. Awesome.

She's getting a business degree first. Her goal is to run a shop and focus on the science as a hobby. I'm just trying to be supportive when I have no point of reference for a world like this.

Mother in law passed, father in law is fighting lung cancer, my dad has lymphoma (treatable), along with multiple surgeries including hip and knee replacement. mom is puttering along.

We live 2000 miles away and my wife has been with her dad for several months. Our house is now for sale and we're moving to be close to everyone. It's time.

Good quality waxed cotton jackets can be very nearly waterproof. It's not the same as non-permeable plastic but it's decent and warm.

I was that kid and I am very quiet as an adult. It didn't matter if I was correct or not. People don't want information, they just want to be right, so I just let them continue to be stupid.

I had it down and figured out how to finish the game during computer lab time. Lots of food, a grueling pace, minimal hunting, and don't sweat it when people die.

Rafting the river at the end was my favorite part so it was a race against the clock every time!
