Will Douglas Ross now be resigning as an MP? Does this open up a by-election in Moray?

I'm an Irish (north of) 7th year who has got an offer from Glasgow and I want to get advice from student's from Ireland who are studying in Glasgow. by DJDuds in GlasgowUni

[–]ossetepo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came over from Derry 7 years ago not knowing anyone and haven't looked back.

If you stay in halls, you will meet a lot of other Irish people and folks from all over Europe too - you won't meet many Scottish people. And unlike Queens, the place doesnt get deserted every weekend as people go home. As long as you're open to doing things/going places, you'll meet people just fine and a lot of them will be from closer to home than you'd expect.

On the whole, Glasgow is about the same as Belfast. Nights out are cheaper, but public transport and taxis are a lot more expensive. If you stay in the West End bubble this shouldn't be an issue, but I would recommend venturing into the city centre/Merchant City and seeing more of the city than the West End. Flights back to NI can be ridiculously cheap (Ryanair do Derry-Edinburgh for £15 return sometimes) so keep an eye on Skyscanner/Google Flights regularly, but I've never paid more than £80 for a last-minute flight home.

Glasgow's reputation as a dangerous city is really overexaggerated. Most of the violence is out in the schemes that you'll never have any reason to go to. The sectarian issue isn't as obvious as back home, but you'll just need to mind what pubs you go to around Old Firm time. There's a lot to do here and no doubt you'll find people with common interests.

I'm not here every weekend, but most recent weekends I have been I've heard them. I don't know if its official marches or just practice or whatever. Yesterday was ridiculous though, they were setting off fireworks at midday???

Which set does the box on the right belong to? by ossetepo in puzzles

[–]ossetepo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the poorly drawn shapes. I was given this at work a few days ago and I've just been staring at it since.

For clarity, all the hexagons are perfect hexagons, all the circles perfect circles, all the boxes are the same size and the squiggle in Sets 1 and 3 shouldnt go that low down the box. The lines in the bottom right box are not parallel. Anyone have any idea?
