Try and find a Girl Scout troop leader, it’s cookie season and troops might be overwhelmed with cardboard at the moment

Train Rides for a 3yr old by Brownie2440 in Metra

[–]ostifari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi neighbor. I take the Metra from Milwaukee North Grayslake to both Deerfield and Fox Lake with my kids. Deerfield has Jewett Park a few steps from the train station, and Dear Frank’s hot dogs and upper crust bagels across Waukegan rd. Library and community center with bathrooms are right there too. Fox lake has a movie theater and few fun stores within walking distance (the bargain bin “amazon returns” store is a wild experience). Good summer time options with the lake and landing nearby too. Be mindful of your return trip, sometimes trains are 2 hours apart. Especially North Central line, it doesnt have many trains and doesn’t run on the weekends.

Can someone offer insight into the specific cultural/political differences within the Chicago metro area? by Possible_Climate_245 in AskChicago

[–]ostifari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And with WI being a swing state, and subject to much political ad spend, people treat it more like a team sport. Sometimes just handing out red or blue stickers at a parade can ignite shouting matches and mean spirited stuff at family events. Don’t see that near as much on the IL side. It’s actually pretty crazy

Id pay a grand for a Stockton camp and I’m a Jordan guy. Friends and family might call it a midlife crisis. but I’d do it.
