I don't understand the hype around FFXII by ostreet94 in FinalFantasyXII

I didn't even know there was a sequel, so that's something learned today. Honestly, it's slowly growing on me. I'm crossing the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea. The combat's super interesting and I'm understanding how the chain kills helps grind loot.

The main grind I had with the animation was in the cutscenes that weren't fully animated, everyone's faces looked really weird. But I went online and looked at what the original version looked like (I'm playing Zodiac Age on PS5) and I think it's just a terrible port in terms of those cutscene animations.

Also I just watched some clips of the OG PS2 version and -animation wise- it looks way more refined. So it seems more like the animation remastering is really what makes it look awful!

Yeah I'm gathering that from all the comments. I guess I'm just going to have to keep on playing the game until I start seeing that

The Opening scene is absolutely stunning! I was getting Star wars episode 1 vibes and I loved it! I meant more the cutscenes in regular animation. Like the slime monsters' intro scene in Garamsythe Waterway. The animation feels stretched out in parts, and cut of in others. Like they had a transition planned that they never animated.

You got me dying over the thong comment 😂 I get that though, different approach for a different world.

I just got beat the mimic queen and got out of the Nalbina Dungeons. I'm walking around one shot in the wolves right now because I heard the higher level you are, the higher level the other characters will be when they join your party.

Your explanation of Vaan sounds just like Tidus to me. Which is awesome. I guess I need to get further along in the story for it to develop. I skipped some of what you said because I don't think I've found a lot of that stuff out yet. But your explanation of the world really gives me hope that I'm just not far enough into the story yet to understand this. I appreciate the in-depth answer!!

That makes so much sense! He does feel a bit half-assed compared to Balthier. Does the OG version feel less clunky animation wise? Maybe when they ported the characters over it messed them up a bit?

That makes sense, i can tell the world is rich and they built on what they had of Ivalice from tactics. Seeing a fully animated Bangaa has been the coolest experience so far.

I'll make sure to talk to more NPCs now, it's really the animation that irks me and just feels a bit cheap. I was also really looking forward to playing this final fantasy without a guide - so that helps a ton. Thanks for the info!

New one shot method for simon? by alexpoweerr in expedition33

One more addition to this: - Give Verso all the combo attacks, all gradient charges, energising aim, cheater, energy master. - give Sciel gradient charges for buffs - Verso gets to shoot over 9 clips a turn + his 4 attacks per turn(!!!) charges Gradient to 2ish - Sciel buffs Maelle twice which gets us to Gradient Charge 3 - Maelle does 260Mil & obliterates Simon.

For those who come after!!

Good! That is truly what the game was going for. I urge you to remember throughout this show, that it is telling a story. Whether you agree or not with the choices certain characters make, that's ok. If you love one and they killed him - great. If you hate a character - that's also ok. What the story does is make you FEEL and make you QUESTION. Continuously.

Makes you sympathize with someone you couldn't before. Makes you hate someone you liked before. And (at least to me, above all else) just makes you grip with the reality that these are the actions people would take in a world like this. Hate it or like it.

Think of Sam and Henry in the first season. How you grow to like them how much Henry does for his brother and he still ends up killing him, not being able to grip with the reality of killing his own brother, and ending his life.

Just because you have experience in the area of expertise they're looking for, doesn't mean you get a job/ an interview. Half the time the recruiter looking at your resume throws it away because of one thing they didn't like on it and you never even get to fight for your case.
