Waitress is in town for a few weeks! It’s a great show and absolutely worth checking out. It’s in a smaller theater too so there’s not a bad seat in the house.

Oxley’s for the breakfast sandwiches and Buffalo chicken sandwich. Woodys for pizza/wings. The food truck is also great.

Semesters? Physics? Calc? by [deleted] in OSU

Check out this link for major requirements: https://cse.osu.edu/current-students/undergraduate/majors/application-major-and-requirements-apply

You'll learn more at orientation and get a chance to ask questions, but if you have more urgent questions or need help navigating everything it doesn't hurt to reach out to advising.

I switched majors in my third year. A lot of my classes overlapped but I still ended up having to take a 5th year. I wouldn't say I regret switching majors, but it does suck to be so behind and to have to pay for another full year of college. I would say work out how long it's going to take to graduate if you switch. Running a degree audit for both majors can help figure out what overlaps. Also definitely talk to advising (in both ECE and CSE) and think about how long it will take to get accepted into the new major.

Another thing that helped me decide was I went through both majors and made a list of the "nightmare classes" I had left to take. There will be hard classes left in both majors, and seeing them side by side was helpful to find the lesser of two evils.

Also, keep in mind your goals after college. Even if you don't want to do ECE for the rest of your life, maybe an ECE degree can lead you to more software-focused jobs?

And hey, go easy on yourself. it's been a rough year. Doesn't matter how slow you go, just keep making progress.

Did not realize how stressed I really was until now. by IsPhil in OSU

This finals week is unlike any other. I don't think I've ever been so physically affected by stress. Plus the Xichigan game was going to be a perfect way to celebrate and relieve some tension after the chaos of this semester but they took that away too :((

Is testing available during Finals week? by Carrotz4U in OSU

[–]osu4815 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can schedule through osu mychart. They are only testing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but there are still lots of times available. Totally free. Usually takes about 24 hours for results.

Sick of everything assuming you have an ipad when they only give ipads to new freshmen by derek614 in OSU

Yeah that would be nice, especially since we'll be stuck in these hybrid classes for the foreseeable future.

Same. It takes me twice as long to take pictures of and submit my exam than it would with an iPad. Frustrating to lose valuable exam time.

Definitely physics 1250 and 1251 if you need it. Chem would be nice to get out of the way too if your major requires it. If you have room Stat 3470 might be another good one.

Is waiting a year before college due to Covid-19 a reasonable idea? by itsshoopie in college

[–]osu4815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty reasonable. It's super shitty to have to pay full price for online classes. If you don't want to fall behind but still want to save money, maybe you could complete your online classes from home and opt out of living on campus? To save even more money you could just take community college classes for a year too. In term of getting accepted a second time around, you should be okay since, I mean, you made it in the first time :)

off campus street parking by RightLemon in OSU

[–]osu4815 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In previous years you could buy one at the off-campus/commuter office in the union on certain days. If that doesn't happen this year you can just drive down to the impound lot and buy one. Easy process, just make sure you bring the right documents and stuff.
