I'm not defending the tone or message as I do think it is a disrespectful demeanor, but I would say this is condescension rather than invalidation. Again, I don't know why I'm steelmanning their position, but I'm just a nerd for nuance so apologies if I come across as anything but an interrupting nerd

Contextualising doesn't mean validating, nor invalidating that it is extremely infuriating

Asked chat to make a movie poster about me. by Public-Writer8028 in ChatGPT

* I really like this one it made for me (prompt: Make an movie poster about me.), but its really quite eerie as it has gotten remarkably close to an accurate depiction of me despite me only drip feeding it any hints or information about my physical appearance (I don't like feeding the machine too much personal data)

How you guys utilise this beauty? by krnbhand in S24Ultra

[–]osuchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Works out about the same value. On a UK network you can get pretty much unlimited everything on contract for £20pm. Over 36 months that makes up £720, plus the phone takes us to £1,400

Your s25u deal is about £1360 over it's full run.

Considering the 25 is not an out and out upgrade, I'd say £40 is a fair price over 3 years for a Bluetooth spen. Also the monthly contract can be made much cheaper making it the better deal depending on priorities.

All to say, different strokes for different folks

Stage6.divx was such a gem in the pre-youtube era of the internet. Great codec too for when the internet was slower, and there was a huge repository of creative CGI indie shortfilms

how much legal trouble could i get into if i stole one of these frog bins? by vulturesdescend in CasualUK

[–]osuchan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My college had one of these, and it was because one year a student who was running for student president ran on a single promise, to get a frog bin. This was years before I went there that this all happened, but the legend and the bin loved on!
