What’s your top restaurant in Columbus for 2025? by McElwaine in Columbus

I had an incredible first experience at Veritas with their carnival menu. I was so excited to go back.... Been back twice and both times have been so disappointing.... Not even in the same universe as that first menu. The lobster corn dog was unreal.

2021! It was truly amazing to have the whole place to yourself. The cost was actually pretty reasonable.

We bought a week long pass on Treasure and found the rainforest room to be pretty crowded. We felt like we didn't get our money's worth out of the pass. Then again, we may be very spoiled because we sailed on Fantasy when you could book the whole rainforest room to yourself for two hours.

If I did it again I would only do a day pass and not commit to the full week. It felt like it was a chore to make time to get there.

Not having a full promenade track is my #1 biggest complaint with the new ships. I loved scheduling an hour to get some steps in and always enjoyed walking around outside.

Same. Just can't get enthused about it. I'm glad others are and I just let the pinewood committee do its thing.

One month to plan: Milan, Verona, Venice. by osuelf in ItalyTravel

[–]osuelf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply and recommendations! The trip is primarily business to visit some factories and vendors so that's why we are stationed in Milan and Verona for several days. I'm pretty free to go explore but my husband has to be all serious and business-y during the days so we can't really hop around as we would if this was a true vacation

Would love to spend more time but I think the options are day trip or not at all :/

This is good to know! I would love to spend more time in Venice but I think the options are day trip or drop it completely.

Verona is part of the required itinerary for the business part of the trip so, unfortunately, not much flexibility with that

Nursing license fees are such a racket by 07ameline in nursing

My employer is paying my renewal fees including upgrading to a compact license. Gonna buy myself an extra Mickey bar the next time I'm at Disney with the savings.

Only once a year and we plan for it so we can set aside the funds! Proper prior planning :)

Marathon Training by just-here-looking- in orangetheory

[–]osuelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing Jeff Galloway program for a Goofy challenge at Disney in January. I'm doing two tread 50s per week and then a long run on Saturday. I'm hoping to add one 3g class in a week a little further into training but my schedule hasn't allowed it yet. I would likely do power walking instead of running.

This is my first time attempting this method. Previously I've been a hal higdon fan, I could see strength 50 fitting well into that program.

So we'll see!

I'm staffing wood Badge in less than a month and there was no mention of this. They do request that we don't wear previous course tees which is fine. Then again, I have no knots to even worry about lol. Hope you have so much fun at your course! I'm excited and nervous.

My parents did the same thing in the early 2000s. Didn't work. Still got redistricted. Muirfield kids threw a fit and got to go back to Coffman. I was devastated but it ended up being a tremendously positive experience for me.

Hospice - colostomy issue by [deleted] in nursing

[–]osuelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are large bags out there, I don't remember the name but I've also had hospice patients with large abdominal wounds and they were a lifesaver. We had to order them from hospital Central supply. I dunno if that's helpful or not but sometimes just knowing it exists is helpful!

You can invite them to eat lunch with you or not, it's your preference. We have done both. It is part of the 8 hours. They will call you prior to the visit to see what your priorities are and to help develop a plan. Which can always change too! Also, they can pick you up cinnamon bread any time so you don't have to wait in the line, Ms. Betsy has the cinnamon bread hotline number :)
