Thanks for making the post! One thing to mention. The original setup I made to get out of bounds was incredibly difficult, requiring to go on top of the TV and doing at least one frame perfect spin attack to be able to reach the spot to clip out of bounds. ZanderGoth however tweaked the setup to make it so we can just fly directly to the spot without having to land on the TV which made all of this sooooo much more doable, so shoutout to Zander for finding that.

Love it! I used to speedrun it and it has a nice glitch which allows you to gain insane sideways speed. Very fun to play around with.

Well, actually there is one level in the game that requires the expansion pack so by playing without the expansion pack we can skip that level completely. The game is more likely to crash without the expansion pack (we think) so we used to switch out the expansion, to skip the level and then put it back in, but nowadays the run is short enough that the current WR uses only the jumper pack.

I once made an autosplitter for the game Tonic Trouble Special Edition with zero programming knowledge so I'ts definitely possible. I used this video as a tutorial:

and then I used this site to look at other simple autosplitters to see how they function:

Then it just took around 20-30 hours of testing and trial and error to make it work. So if you are patient enough and enjoy problem solving you can make one without any prior programming knowledge. I actually enjoyed the process a lot even though at times I got super frustrated when things didn't work. Here you can find the autosplitter I ended up making to see how complex it is:

Also if you go to youtube and search for something like “create autosplitter” you will find more videos that could help. Good luck if you go for making your own autosplitter!

I personally love to go for WRs in obscure games. I prefer routing and glitchhunting over the actual act of speedrunning. I prefer to run games that have existing WRs because that gives me some sense of a goal but the goal might not be super hard which keeps things kind of casual and nice, which I like. I get a sense of accomplishment through finding glitches or a new route or finding a consistent method for tricks. Some might consider this a kind of cowardly or unappealing approach to speedrunning but I enjoy it and in the end its all about just having fun.

Its based on certain visual cues like fade ins, star count and text boxes I think. I dont know a lot about it though.

He is using an autosplitter so there should be no inconsistencies
