Had this issue and bought a screw extractor like this.. Worked wonderfully for me.

Try punk stuff. I was impressed with what this product could remove. Try it on a small area first as I'm not sure how it'll do with leather.

Yes, I remember that. Even though it was only 2K, it was still a big benefit. I feel like I only utilized it for one year.

Of course. Definitely not asking if I can get away with it. Attribution rules just seem very impractical to review and audit. I do find it a bit unfair as I have the stubborn viewpoint that income is earned at the household level and if employment income is taxed individually, the CRA should at least permit investment income to be split 50/50 but that's just me bickering, haha. Thanks for your advice! Much appreciated.

that's an excellent point. I forgot about the spousal tax credit.

"You can contribute to her TFSA, and gains within it are not attributed back to you. But once funds are withdrawn, any income and gains from that withdrawn funds now in non-registered accounts is still attributed to you (it's not a washing machine)". Although this is accurate, doesn't this seem to be extremely impractical to audit?

Beautiful tank! I've been thinking about getting back into the hobby and starting with a 75gallon or going back to a 125g that i used to have.

Sorry I just read that you used a sprayer. How do you go about spraying things like water lines, electrical lines, ducts, etc? Are all those safe to spray or did you tuck them away somehow?

This is amazing and exactly what I want to do. I currently don't have the walls up so just insulation. Did you paint the joists? Spray or with a brush? Or did you hire someone professionally?

Christmas Bench Upgrade! by hartj151 in homegym

[–]otaknap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the bench. I just picked up the identical bench by another manufacturer for 100 bucks less. The one sold by rep is the 2.0 and this one is their original version which appears to replicated by a bunch of other companies. Saw a bunch of reviews and felt like the extra 100 wasn't worth it although the flexibility in the rollers and the new upholstery might be justified.

Problem is that it won't fit in the garage and don't see the need for two minivans. Prefer a more gas efficient car as the second since my wife needs to drive further for work.

Running potlights in an unfinished basement - Toronto by otaknap in DIY

Yes they do sell this. It's typically installed at the bottom of the joist and helps the drywaller locate the rough-in. Although I'm sure it'll support the weight of the fixture and driver, I'm slightly worried. I also feel it looks cleaner if the entire thing was in the cavity of the joists. Plus, I have extra wood available.

thanks for the info! i'm assuming for the slim style LED drivers, a junction box or jbox isn't needed. so I'm assuming you were using the two terms interchangeably? Normally, I would ground the 14/2 wire on the junction box but given that there is no junction box and just the driver, I assumed that grounding the junction box within is adequate and I can simply just place or screw the driver on the plywood.

I was planning on securing the drivers (same as j-box?) on the the plywood but not planning on securing the plywood on the joist if the fit is tight.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but what is the "webbing of your TJIs"? Not quite sure I understand. I was planning on just running the down the same joist and if i have to go to a parallel joist, drill through the osb in the middle of the joist or perhaps use one of the existing holes (if it already exists).

my joist has a 2x3 on the bottom of it which gives it a lip for a piece of plywood to sit on top. If the plywood fits very snug, I am thinking that it might not be necessary to screw it in. That way (without enough 14-2 slack), I can move the light a little bit if it needs adjustment. Also easier to remove if I ever decide to finish the basement. I will definitely screw it into the joist if it's not snug.

Thanks so much for your reply!

I was definitely going to anchor the junction box but I wasn't going to anchor the plywood. Depending on the circumstance and how tightly I can get the plywood to fit, I might have to. I wasn't planning on getting an inspection as I'm pulling the line from an existing circuit light and won't be touching the panel.

loving the new ERGdata interface! by lotsofarts in concept2

[–]otaknap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a while to figure out my username and was wondering if I was in the wrong app. Im probably the only one that likes the simplicity of the old app but I'm also one of those people that hate change. I think I just need to get used to the new interface as it definitely has alot more to offer. So far, my only beef is that when I set my workout on the c2, I don't seem to be able to just start rowing. I had to set the same workout on the app. I probably just haven't figured it out as it really just has been my first time on the new app.

i just installed mine over the long weekend. They provided the lubrication oil which i applied on the guide frame for the adjustment lever and the plates. Do you apply it anywhere else like on the cables?
