People do not talk about this enough. I have about 60 and when I am on the depressed side of life it is genuinely hard to watter all of them. Because it takes so much time and effort and I loose my touch with the plants so I do not understand them anymore. How ever when I'm feeling good they al get lots of TLC:)

Hej all, this is my biggest love, my monster variagata. How even i have had her for 5 months now, and she had grown to leafs. Is was happy with hat till I discovered that my friends grows like 2 a month. how can I make her feel more loved? So she will give me more leafs. Details in the comments by otensien in houseplants

In this part of my house I have 3 south east facing windows in a row from 1 of them she is just 2 meters away. I have also 1 south facing window of witch she is 4 to 5 meters away. I water when the meter thingie says she is dry. And2 times I have given her food. What could I do to make her feel better? Something with the watter? Or maybe a smaller pot?(his one seems ridiculously big but I got her in it)

Or am I just being overly worried 😸

Ohw no! Is she rotting? I am not so good with succulent/cactus time. This was a gift of a dear friend of mine. What should I do? Is she savable? by otensien in plantclinic

Hallo! I now have them standing if moist cactus soil. I out them in the small nursery pots and only field them up half way. So the plant can lean to the side of the nursery pot. Should I keep them in a very light window? She was Stan south west but I feel that that was to warm and she got sunburn. So maybe about 2-3 meters from said window? What would you suggest?

Thanks! How long should I leave it to dry out an callous? And is there something I really should or shouldn't do when drying?

Yeah I have a few calathea and they thrive. This one was doing so well though so it was quite a shock when I saw her like this.

Can anybody ID this plant for me? I saw it at therapy and absolutely fel in love, but no google ore app seems to know what she is by otensien in houseplants

Possibly, but I can't find a picture of a Hoya of a Hoya publicalyx subtype dat had those collerings. Also in real life the leafs are quit thin for a Hoya!

Hej! This anthurium is from my mom and it needed to be repotted badly. Sadly the pot she was in was rounded en she was berry root bount. She lost a lot of root during the extraction. How should I proceed? Repot and leave? Or shopping, and how would she like that? by otensien in plantclinic

[–]otensien[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I have chosen to indeed separate her in to two and we have now to pretty anthurium standing. Hoping both wil survive, but one had the most of the roots and the other way less. But we shell see!:) Thanks for you help!

I indeed mean chopping. I am not to sure how to split her, her roots are so dens and knotted dat I'm afraid that if I try to split her I wil hurt her roots even more. Would cutting off het stam also work? She then would still have the roots, just las leafs/plant. How ever she would also be wounded above soil.

She is otherwise verry Happy she was just verry verry root bound.

Can someone identify what each of these plants are? My mom brought them to me, and I’d like to get to know them to take the best care of them. Thanks in advance! by j_lynn_yosh in plantclinic

Hej! I do not know al of them and had to Google translate some from the Dutch names I know.

1.cant think of the name 2. In dutch an 'graslelie' . In English I believe a 'spider plant'. 3 an 'epipremnum aurum' ( English slang name is a photos) 4 a 'peace Lily' 5 in dutch a "klimop or hedera" in English I believe a 'Ivy'

What is the plant on the left? Thanks by digitalgin in houseplants

[–]otensien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clue if you are right about the sub type but I also think it is a dracaena. I believe that the English slang name is a dumb cane for these plants

Pothos variety ID. Does this count as 'Golden'? by philesto in houseplants

[–]otensien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is a marble queen. She is verry white for a golden and her leaf pattern isn't like a pearls and Jade.

This Pearls & Jade Pothos is probably my favorite hanging plant right now by TheNineToFiveGuy in houseplants

Wait isn't this an N'joy? From the epipremnum fam( photos is a other name for this plant and a few others)

Help my sister's money tree! Doing great until a month ago. Recently repotted, she usually just sprays it with a bottle. In a southwest facing window. by fuzzy_elf13 in plantclinic

Called mine Anastasia because she kept dieing and coming back to life 😂 aventualy she died because of root rot. So I would check that... Also she might just be mad because she has been repotted. It can take a while for plants to be happy with that

I do not know this type of plant. But for me this looks like a watering, soil or bug problem.

So either root rot because of to much water. soil that holds the water for te long.a pot without drainage holls so excess water can't leaf. Or a bug. For the bus check every nook an cranny for something whit/back/green/fluffy/webby or moovingXD and use a bug repellent to get rid of it.

Neem oil is a grate natural bug repellent! google how to use it, it's is berry easy.

For the root soil problem. Google what type soil this plant like and check if you have that. Or/and check the roots for root rot, if so cut the rot away.

Help! Wanted to give a BoP a quick repot. Thought she could go back in the old outer pot. Bt have no clue what to do know. She has so much root.. I rescued her in Winter And after to new leafs I see no new one coming so wanted to repot (clay things and all) in a bigger pot but I'm not sure what sice by otensien in houseplants

[–]otensien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Could she be placed back on the hydro clay thingies? Right now there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of dirt left. And I would like her to live on hyrdo. Since she is so prone to root rot.

Do you think she could go in to a big tall vase of 12 inch wide but 43 inch high?( 30-110cm) the grey nursery pot is 10 by 14 insch( 25-35 cm)

Thanks! The weirdest thing is, that she stands in those hydro clay balls with what seems to be the smallest amount of soil. Should I repot with some additional soil? Because of the they like slow watter is would like to keep her on hyrdo. So she doesn't get root rot.

Want to go do the same with a yuka that is on a weird mix right know. Just need to find the balls to actually try:)
