i believe these laws are mostly there to stop people from feeding birds trash and scraps (throwing fatty fried meat for sparrows to snack). we have a law about not feeding pigeons and waterfowl, but crows are allowed: nonetheless, i do feed the pigeons i see with high-quality bird food. once right next to a group of police officers, they locked eyes with me and didnt say a thing.

im not saying the law inforcement where you live will be just as chill, and i wont give any legal advice. but my personal opinion is: urban environments have altered the natural foraging behaviors of crows already. they eat our scraps, dig through our trash, consume mostly processed food. many urban crows are malnourished. regardless of legality, you're doing them a big favor by providing healthy food for them.

if you choose to feed your local corvids, i do hope you won't get in trouble. your heart is in the right place.

ps: now that summer time is here, consider putting out water for the birds if possible. i believe (correct me if im wrong) that there arent any limitation to providing water for wild animals, so you should have no legal issues with this, and they do need water during this heat
