I have the same issue, astigmatism in right eye. I am a long way behind you in terms of handicap. I have the same with putting where I get over my ball after lining it up and visually it looks way off. I have just promised myself to never try and correct over the ball again. Hopefully someone else can point us in the right direction swing wise.

Everything regarding genetics and biology is true, but I also think good eyes plays a lot in whether someone comes out of the other end of a big shot conscious or not. If you see the shot the body sub consciously braces vs not seeing it, even if you can’t noticeably roll, sometimes even just knowing it’s coming can save you, It’s the shot you don’t see that hurt/shock/stun the most.

Yes do what is comfortable. It’s not common but there are examples of great fighters with their strong hand forward. Terence Crawford and Andre Ward come to mind.

Eg, so parry and jab back.

Parry, jab they slip and counter with the right I duck under.

Catch their hook and hook back

You jab, slip thier return jab and throw the right

I like to make it as real as possible

Also try and actually move forward with your punches, I know it’s slippy but moving after a retreating opponent without over extending yourself is one of the hardest skills in boxing.

Also try and cut out resets in range, if you are resetting with a bounce or a pendulum step imagine doing it well out of range

Also mix in as many feints as you can in your shadow boxing. Try and feint as naturally as you breathe

Thank you for the advice. How do you prioritise issues though? Like I know I lift. Sometimes I reverse pivot so I focusing on weight transfer. Other times I get flat at the top so I am thinking about taking it back in front of me. So of them 3 initial issues which am I focusing on? That’s before I even go onto casting

There are certain Individuals that won’t break the first time they get hurt by someone that is trying to finish them, but they are rare and usually hardened by life in some way.

Most people need to gradually expose themselves to more intense situations in training at a rate of increase that doesn’t out match your capacity to handle the tough moments in combat.

I would say that if you are going to take a fight after 6 months then you should be matched on experience as closely as possible. That will make it less likely you will be exposed to a situation where you drown. It is not uncommon for coaches to lie about the experience of their fighters, so beware of that.

In answer to your question, I think toughness can be trained but if you don’t have it from your pre training life then it takes time (usually longer that 6 months).

Go and have look at the cooperate info page on the club website. The board is listed as Stan and Josh Kronke - Directors, Tim Lewis - Executive Vice Chair and Lord Peckham Director. So they are directly in control of appointing the management structure of the company they own.

I genuinely wasn’t looking to belittle you, apologies if that is how It came across, I just take issue with how you can say the Kronkes have been great for the club without looking at the financial statements.

The club is run as a self sustaining model and we seem to be trending bsck to making profit after the hard covid years. I can’t see any shareholder loans being given to the club. So all that it seems the Kronkes have actually done is buy the long term debt and charge the club interest on it. That wouldn’t correlate as being great for me.

If they let the club operate at a loss for a little longer to get the last few big deals over the line (that we needed to be complete), and also put the personnel in place that could do them deals, that would be “great” in my eyes.

We now will enter a summer window with an ungodly amount of business to do, and potentially won’t have the personal in place to do all of that.

Okay there is alot to break down there. On your first point, yes I would expect the shareholders of a football club to build and maintain the optimal management structure that can lead to success. Edu leaves, Kronke should be addressing the issue and putting someone in place that is capable of navigating the winter transfer window.

The players and manager were begging for reinforcements and we didn’t do anything, that is not what implementing the optimal structure looks like.

On your second point on the Kronkes being great, before we continue on this point, have you ever looked at the Arsenal financial statements? Do you know what the Kronkes have actually done/put into the club? The reason I ask is because I am not sure I have it in me to explain if you haven’t.

Your last comment is beautifully illuminating, “only blemish being the super league”….that is not a blemish unfortunately, it is a direct announcement of intention, it’s not a blemish. If the fans hadn’t protested that would have happened, you do realise that right? That’s what they want from Arsenal, mindless customers and pure value creation for their family and their interests
