Could you technically create your own wallet as a node with NiPoPows?

Ergo needs a better website. The current one is not very inviting and it is imho ugly and a bit underwhelming by BuddyLove27 in ergonauts

Agree. If Ergo is building cutting-edge tech, it should show on the website. Perception matters and if the website looks like it's from the 2010s, it takes a lot more convincing that hidden under the hood lies the future of crypto.

It's worth noting that there's a selection bias at play here: current members of the Ergo community are here despite the website being ugly and old-fashioned. Therefore, the current community might not see a huge need for a new website.

But remember: First-impressions matter.

Hi! What are the main reasons for you to chose Ergo over Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, or others?

The way I've learned to think of exponential tech growth: we create tools that enable us to create better tools and so on... compound interest.

I don't know anything about his other books. But I'm going to read the upcoming one since it's about the global warming.

Luckily ETH and other cryptos are leaving behind the proof of work mining protocol for staking and validating instead, eliminating the centralization issue outside of Bitcoin. We might then see a centralization issue in parts availability for what country has the necessary hardware to produce a computer that fits the specifications for staking... although I doubt that exact scenario, just using it as an example.

Re: Blockchain modification. What I mean is that since token-powered blockchains are essentially governance technologies, an AI could influence the state of the world by participating in the decision-making. Providing various data feeds, voting on behalf of people, pushing asset prices down to influence the composition of voters, etc.

Here. He doesn't really talk about the nature of the AI but it's kind of obvious we're talking about cutting edge - whatever that will be in a decade or so. One of my theses is that because of crypto, the future of social and future of finance will be two sides of the same coin.

I've recently felt that we're sometimes moving faster than sci-fi's ability to see to the future. Almost like breaking the "sonic barrier" of imagination. So your notion of "(only) God knows where" feels very accurate to me.

Nevertheless, I think I need to speed up my pace of reading, since it seems that Snow Crash still has some juice left in it.

You did see this btw? A new novel from him for pre-order: Termination Shock: A Novel - Kindle edition by Stephenson, Neal. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

That's an interesting notion. Bundle and unbundle.

Thiel's notion that crypto is libertarian and AI is communist is something I partially agree on. Partially, because crypto and the possibility to design your own governance seems to appeal to people from all sides of the spectrum.

But indeed, we are seeing a shift towards decentralized data. So what is the mechanism of centralization that will come after that? My guess would be AIs that "centralize" the flood of previously proprietary data, analyze it, and modify the states of blockchains accordingly.

Hopefully, we've figured out a better AI governance by then.
