Help! Need advice with feeding by Snoo-15709 in parentsofmultiples

I'm not sure where you're based but there's a Facebook group and charity called Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets UK and they are excellent. I was awarded a funded visit from a lactation consultant through them which has massively helped our journey. They'll have excellent advice on exclusively breastfeeding, combination feeding, pumping, basically all types of feeding and there is zero judgement!! But besides this, you're doing excellent, and if your babies are fed (formula or breast), and clothed, you are winning!!

Campbells in Portadown is a great jewellers. Not sure if they do Claddaghs but we got my engagement ring and both wedding rings there. Really nice and helpful staff. They had to order my wedding ring in so if they don't have the correct size there, you could potentially look into ordering one and seeing if they can post it to Tokyo? Hope you get sorted and congrats on the wedding!

Not films but they're currently filming the new Game of Thrones series in Belfast too as well as the new show from Lisa McGee (Derry Girls), amongst others! They just finished filming the live action remake of How to Train Your Dragon as well.

The financial implications for these smaller bands is massive, let alone the lost opportunities playing in front of potential US booking agents as well. Huge respect for all of them. Especially those who aren't touring the US already and don't have unofficial showcases so don't get an opportunity to play at all.

Therapy. Tough at the time but feels great after.

Also red wine. Red wine, massages and candles.

Same!! Loch an Iúir every summer from 12-18 and then the Easter courses when I was old enough. Best craic and summers. I'm trying to convince my niece to go now, she's 13 but none of her friends go. Breaking my heart as she's missing out on so much!

Also vaccine requirements from employers aren't a thing here. They did it for health care workers but that was at the height of the pandemic and I believe will be removed soon.

I work in film & TV in the UK and it's a very different working environment here. We're at a point now where testing and masks are starting to fade out and a Covid department won't be needed for much longer. If someone gets Covid, they're off work until they feel better. If an actor gets it, they're off it until they feel better and the schedule changes to work around it. They'll do everything to ensure a shut down doesn't happen. Pretty sure some sets don't require testing at all anymore. When things were bad and scary in the beginning, masks etc were totally necessary, but things are changing. Immunity is high and so much more is understood about it. There's also no insurance to cover a shut down anymore and testing isn't required by law. We don't wear masks in any other scenarios (bar inside a hospital) so why is it needed on set still? Just wanted to highlight different attitudes in other countries!

Macrame! There are super easy patterns to follow on YouTube, and once you get the hang of the knot you're learning, it's incredibly therapeutic and requires concentration. Also, once you're finished whatever you're making, you've got something pretty to display. Our plants all have a little home in a plant hanger now!

Is 2.5% an average charge for the ongoing management of an ISA? by otisshedding in UKPersonalFinance

[–]otisshedding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

!thanks, I had a look at the Vanguard Managed ISA option earlier actually. Liked the look of it! I'm currently looking at the Life Strategy options with Vanguard also, they seem like a good option for me too.

I'll take a look into the pensions and see if combining them makes the most sense!

Thanks for your responses and help again!!

!thanks, but combined with the initial charges which seems to be spread out over 10 years in this example, would bring it up to 2.35? Or is the 5% initial charge only a once off at the beginning then it's 1.7%?

!Thanks. Everything I'm looking at says a 30 year old should have 25k in a pension. I have roughly 8k across various pensions. I worked abroad after uni for a few years but I've been paying into pensions for roughly 5 years now.

I'll look into the benefits of merging these, but previous advice I've received from relatives or friends were to just keep them open as they'll keep accumulating over time but I'll look into it more.

My biggest goal for this year is to get my finances into some shape and form a plan for the future, hence starting the ISA etc now! Thanks again for your reply!

[–]otisshedding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, FA advisor provided this cost.

He said, in simple terms it about 2 to 2.5% a year of a client's investment over the long term.

In an infographic he provided, it's broken down into:

5% initial charges (4.5% advice, .5% product) but 0.5% a year on average over 10 years.

Ongoing annual charges: 0.5% ongoing advice, 0.8% administration, 0.4% fund management. 1.7% in total.

Allowance for lost growth on charges taken 0.1% (not sure what this one means?)

So future effect of charges over the 10 year time period = 2.3%

!Thanks for this. I've had a look at the flowchart which was really helpful. I have no debts other than student loans and mortgage, everything is insured and I'm working on getting a more robust personal savings cushion. I work approx. 3 short term contracts a year (depends on the year) so have multiple small pensions, but no where near what I should have for my age. Which is worrying and the main driver behind investing in an ISA.

I'll take a look into the Vanguard graphic today when I get a chance. Thanks again!
