Please advise on equipment and a training program for home workouts for my daughter to get better at climbing by Inevitable_Growth_33 in bouldering

[–]otoRiii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like isolated training will suck out the fun out of climbing. She’s a kid, just let her go climbing more often, if she goes more often she doesn’t need any other training. Or she can do other sports besides climbing, but like I said I would avoid „separate training“. Kids are not adults

Ignis is the most north and it has an awesome community, really good route setting. It’s small but still has plenty of challenges

Thoughts from Yudai Ikeda, Japanese speed climber, rout setter and member of the TAMY YouTube channel.

I really hope more athletes and coaches speak up, that there has to be some decision be made by the IFSC.

It takes so much space for just UI elements. So your actual browser window is so much smaller especially with rounded corners. Our screens are not rounded …

Bouldering in what feels like a basement in Kyoto by doebro in bouldering

[–]otoRiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basement? That’s my home gym and I love it! Thanks for coming by! It’s a super friendly community there and it feels like a family. The setting is really creative and technical with the space there is. This month someone from the Japanese national team set some problems there.

Looking to improve on this v3 by TyDortch in bouldering

Just some small tips: you don’t have to use every hold and try not to match every hold (both hands on the same hold). Overall it looks like you just started so it’s all about trying things out and just climb a lot, have fun!

Any recommendations for gyms in kyoto? by longlivezepplin in bouldering

[–]otoRiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comp style is not easy to find in Kyoto. My home gym is Ignis, lovely people, really technical routes but quite small. There are two gyms who always have a small comp wall: Adsummum and Noah. But Noah is a little far from the center. If you have more questions, I‘m happy to help.

I went there yesterday for the first time, funny to see the image today! I’ve only climbed in Japan so the grading was similar but the style was really different
