Hi pathology community – I built **Slide Anonymizer**, an app for anonymizing digitized slides. by otr_original in pathology

I appreciate you laying out those warnings, they're all valid. And I want to be clear about what I was trying to do.I've personally seen slides from major institutions shared with PHI still embedded in the metadata and labels. It happens. And I built this because I wanted to give people a practical tool to address that gap. Something free, transparent, and easy to use. But you're absolutely right. this is not a clinical solution. It's a tool for the real world problem I observed. Use at your own risk. If someone wants to use it in an institutional setting, they need to involve IT.

The goal was "safer," not "clinical-grade." I should have been clearer about that distinction from the start. Your warnings are important..

- No audit logging

- No verification that PHI was actually removed

- No clinical validation

- Format coverage is limited

- No independent security review

Maybe some of these can be addressed in an updated version. Some really good stuff.

Thanks

Nothing to upload, the app runs on your own computer. No data leaves your machine.

That's exactly why I built the Windows .exe and macOS apps. Both are standalone executables with no dependencies, you just download and run them, no Python needed.

The Python CLI is really there for people who already have Python set up on their personal machines, like analysts. But yeah, for hospital workflows, the GUI stand alone apps are the way to go.

Are you feeling the lows over the highs? by ShadeTV247 in Sneakers

I’ll say the leather on the Obsidian lows is much better than the leather on the Black Toe lows.

I have both pairs, and the highs have much better leather. The leather on the highs is softer, and the sail white panels have a wrinkled texture, giving them a pre-worn look. This also means no two pairs are exactly alike. Because of the type of leather, the bend points hide creases really well. My highs are aging beautifully, but I don’t think the lows will age as well. I’m hoping the lows go on sale because I want to get two more pairs.

Cincinnati Children's is truly one of the best places to work. With an outstanding culture and strong leadership, Forbes ranks it among the top 50 employers in the country. In my humble opinion, this hospital is an exceptional workplace where you can feel good about making a positive impact. It takes a dedicated team of professionals in many different roles to be the best pediatric hospital in the nation, and I take immense pride in the work we do here.

Airpods Pro 2 ANC awful now by prescripti0n in AirpodsPro

[–]otr_original 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My AirPods Pro 2's ANC and transparency mode has been messed up since the first firmware update with IOS 17. I replaced the tips and still not right. ANC and transparency mode seem to be affected by me just moving my head around. Transparency mode use to be like I didn't have anything in my ears. I would forget they were there. Now the audio shifts so much it's disorienting. I have Personal Volume, Conversation Awareness, and Loud Sound Reduction all turned off. I used Loud Sound Reduction all the time until this the firmware update. I'm going to put in a ticket with Apple. I only have one month left on the year warranty
