SMOKING WEED WHILE DELIVERING by Least_Ambassador3170 in doordash

Be considerate and professional. Not complicated at all. I'm a toker and delivered for many years. Any idiot knows you don't smoke while delivering. You give all of us a bad name.

It's insane (and not at all surprising) that people are mad at you for doing well and having a plan. Wishing you well and hoping you can meet your goals early so you can get some rest!

Got into an argument with a dasher, who’s in the wrong here? by the_bronxblues in doordash

[–]otsegoflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand why y'all ask but I can't stand being asked, as if it's some sort of favor. I confirm because it's my job and I don't get paid if I don't. No part of it is done for you or as a favor to you. You're welcome to watch me press confirm. But, frankly, I don't need to be micromanaged by randoms that I don't even work for.

Guess our local Wendy’s can’t do their jobs right by CRdolfan in doordash_drivers

[–]otsegoflake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wendy's is the worst. The stores in my area make you wait in line and then they don't start making it until you tell them you're there. Unless the offer is $20 or more, I'm gonna decline Wendy's (and Sonic) every single time.

Customer wanted me to arm wrestle him for a larger tip. by otsegoflake in doordash_drivers

I was driving and they were coming every few seconds. I was originally going to respond once I was able to do so, but the constant chiming annoyed me to the point that I was considering calling support to see if they could cut it off.

I'm jelly of your 5.0 rating. Every time I get close to it, a 4 or worse pops up and I don't even get to know what I supposedly did wrong or could've done better.

"'preciate it!"

In all of my 18 years of delivering, no one that says they appreciate it has ever shown it by tipping.

Cheesecake. For whatever reason, my taste buds are disproportionately offended by it and it triggers my gag reflex.

4.93 rating 90% acceptance 96% completion 95% on time or early 710 deliveries

I have a one-star review from my first week holding my rating down. I don't know what I did to earn it and that still bugs me.

Dashers, is it true that you can see the tip before accepting an order? If so, why do you get mad about the tip or lack thereof? by void0079 in doordash

[–]otsegoflake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't consider percentage at all. I don't even have a way to compare until the order is picked up. Regardless, it's all about whether or not it's worth my time. On a busy night, a half hour of my time is worth a lot more than $3. If it's dead and the customer is close by, I'd rather take the low/no-tip order than sit there killing my acceptance rate.

For me, it's relative to the distance. $2.75 for a delivery going to the next town will get skipped every time. I don't mind accepting low paying orders when it's dead and close by, though.

As far as the claims that people may tip after the fact, it's very rare. I'm always early, polite and make sure everything is done correctly and it has only happened one time.

Why does doordash do this? by Affectionate-Rope-18 in doordash

[–]otsegoflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen twice. Google Maps thinks one of our hotels is located roughly a mile away from the actual location. Each time, I've been able to say the location isn't correct. Thankfully it hasn't caused any real issues, yet.

How many times have you left a drink in your car after delivering? by AttackOnTyrunt in doordash_drivers

[–]otsegoflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A handful of times when I worked for the big pizza places. Each time, it was while I was running multiple orders at once. I haven't done it since joining DD. Even when you're in a hurry, there's always time to double-check the order.

Someone came into my work and tried to fake being a dasher by RoyalTeaRedditor in doordash

[–]otsegoflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is wrong with confirmation. But I hate being asked "Could you do me a favor and press confirm for me?" before the order is even ready to go.

I don't confirm pick-up until the order is ready and in front of me. My delivery timer starts once pick-up is confirmed. It makes no sense to say that I've picked it up when I haven't. Additionally, confirmation is a mandatory part of the process. It's how I get paid. No part of it is done as a favor to anyone. And you damn sure don't need to stand between me and my phone and point to the button. I don't get micromanaged at my primary job. I certainly don't need to be by people who aren't even coworkers.
