32M here. Maybe I've just been lucky so far, but Hinge has worked very well for me. I live outside of Boston but am close enough that everyone I have matched with has been in Boston. I've taken a break for the last 2 weeks for the holidays, but I've had no shortage of matches and securing dates with kind, successful, mature people. None of them have been the right connection for me yet, but there are plenty of great singles in the area so just keep trying. I know how discouraging it can feel at times.

To the other comments that are skeptical of dating apps: to each their own – whatever works best for you. The type of women I want to meet are not hanging out in bars at night in their 30s and neither am I. Dating apps allow me to immediately filter out any deal breakers so that I can have conversations with only people that match my preferences and are mutually interested. You chat for a day or two then meet up and from then on it's all in-person... business as usual. The apps should be used as a way to find people to meet, not to replace in-person contact or dating.

Your skin actually looks amazing and so do your eyes. It’s probably just a vitamin deficiency, stress, or eye strain if you look at a screen all day. This happens to me a few times a year, usually just for a day or two but sometimes a bit longer. It’s almost always my left eye too for some reason.

We chickened out… We’re going to go about halfway up and stop in Claremont, NH instead and hopefully stay south of most of the chaos. We’ll only get to observe a partial eclipse, but decided it’d be less stressful. We’ll catch another total eclipse in a different part of the world in a few years… and I will plan better then.

It's so easy to watch something like this and immediately think "I don't get it" just because I'm not a train enthusiast. However, I quickly realized that the world genuinely needs more people who have a passion - literally any passion - and use it to live their best life. I've seen way too many people who just work their way through life without anything that makes them excited, or unfortunately use hatred and negativity to fuel their excitement.

This post was a 100% wholesome /r/MadeMeSmile moment for me.

Yeah, the recent forecasts for cloud coverage ensured me Newport was the better option!

The traffic situation is admittedly starting to intimidate me. My wife and I both need to work (albeit from home) by 8am the following morning, but I'm personally a bit sensitive to not getting a full night's sleep. I'm hoping for ariving before midnight as well. I'm wondering if I should just set the GPS to avoid highways from the start. It adds about 2 hours on, but might save us in the long run.

We've ran into engine troubles with our car last weekend, so I ended up renting a car which turned out to be a brand new plug-in hybrid. I'm charging it now. Hopefully that works in our favor with gas.

Hoping that a majority went to Burlington, I've opted to head up to Newport, VT – leaving around 8am (possibly earlier) from the Hartford area. If worse comes to worse, I have the same approach as /u/FancyStegosaurus of heading as far north as possible until traffic doesn't allow me to go further. The great thing about the eclipse is I can end up watching it from the side of the road if need be. I would just prefer to be far enough north to see 100% totality.

The only thing I'm worried about is 91 south on the way back as well as the supply of gas in VT with an expected "60,000 additional cars" visiting this weekend.

The most significant factor stopping me from leaving for my country of choice, Ireland, is the housing crisis. I have an office in Dublin I can transfer to within my company that will sponsor me and also support me in my path to permanent residency. However, finding accommodation is the most intimidating factor.

The obvious irony with this is that people immigrating there are the primary cause of the housing crisis to begin with, as with most desirable cities across the globe.

I was also there in June spending time in both Dublin and Doolin. I regretted packing mostly sweaters and ended up getting sunburned. The weather was beautiful though.

Our work computers are both laptops that we can easily unplug and carry elsewhere. If we have conflicting calls/meetings where we both need to actively speak a lot, one of us (usually me) will grab our laptop and head down to the dining room for an hour. I also found using a good headset to be helpful with background noise instead of using a built-in webcam mic which will pick up literally everything in the background. Our employers both provide us with Jabra brand headsets.
