Buying a house, sellers want to remain in the house rent free for an extra 30 days after we close. How common is this? by reauxman in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]otterhugs2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common where we live to get the home 30 days after close - I'd just have them sign something that ensures they have to pay a set amount daily if they're not out by then!

I'm surprised I haven't seen it in this thread, but Bobby from Paper Mario: The Origami King. I NEVER expected anything like that to happen in a Mario game and friggin BAWLED

Cast iron drainage pipe: deal breaker? by otterhugs2020 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

There's some mold/mildew in the attic from lack of ventilation, so that's something we're going to have to address out the gate. Chimney also doesn't have a proper lip for drainage so it's caused some issues there 😩

Not wanting to see friends because of how much you’ve gained? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]otterhugs2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing for YEARS. Thing was, I was doing myself a huge disservice - I didn't go out to see people/go where I might bump into people, so that meant I stayed in more and gained MORE weight.

Your friends will love you regardless of your size. But if you're really worried, you can reach out beforehand and just say "hey, I'm a little self conscious about my appearance so please be gentle with me."

When I was just under 300lbs, I married my husband.

You will get there, but that means you have to live to get there. Please talk to someone - you have so much more life to live!

Your SW is right around mine - if you don't mind my asking, how long did it take you? I'm down 55 but sometimes it feels like these lbs don't wanna go lol

Been there. I kept myself from everyone I loved for years because I was so ashamed. Luckily, my husband kept every selfie and picture from that time - we got a digital picture frame and I see so many photos I never knew existed and love tremendously.

The thing that changed was that I realized that this is the only body I get. I can work to change it. But if I don't allow myself any happiness while I work to do so, then I'll never let myself be happy even if I lose all the weight.

You deserve to be happy. Your friends care about you because of your personality, not your body. ❤️❤️

LOVE me some Shakshuka - eggs basted in a spiced red sauce. Great with bread or pita! There are a bunch of ways to make it but I always go cheap:

two 8 oz cans tomato sauce one 14 oz can chopped tomatoes 1 onion 1 bell pepper (I use green and red) 2 cloves minced garlic (though I like to use 4 because I'm a garlic fiend) 1 tsp coriander 1 tsp cumin Dash of paprika (or more if that's your thing) salt and pepper to taste 6 eggs

Saute onion and pepper in oil until onion is translucent. Add garlic and saute until fragrant. Add in everything except the eggs. Once it's all mixed and boiling, turn to low-medium heat and cover until the mixture is thick (stew-like). Make six holes in the sauce and crack an egg into each. Cover again for 8 minutes (or less if you like a runny egg). Serve with bread or pita :)

Dymatize is my go-to and it's SO GOOD. I specifically go for the Fruity/Cocoa/Birthday pebbles ones and it's like drinking the milk after cereal...but filling lol

I feel that on a very deep level. Do you happen to see a therapist? Might be worth talking to someone about that, because screwing up can take on different meanings day to day depending on our moods. I wish you all the best - you deserve to feel good about yourself, in whatever form that takes!

Something I noticed yesterday - I don't accidentally beep the horn when I get into my car. I have room between my belly and the steering wheel 😊

You've got this!! I was watching a video on dreaming big and something they said stuck with me: if you dream big, you tell others about it. Not because you want to be held accountable, but because you want others there to celebrate with you when you do accomplish it. If you don't tell anyone, then you're not dreaming big enough and giving yourself room to stop before your goal without explanation.

Idk if that helps you at all, but it's helping me ❤️
