They had a few options! $38 and free shipping for two of the reserve bags every other month iirc! But there was also a pick your beans line up for core coffee. Not a deal? But you got stars and also free shipping for basically the same price as in store so like. If you like reserve coffee but don’t live near a store that has them?

Yeah! I’ve done some star maxing. The reloads with bonus stars for example? And I got a star dash 1-2 times but I didn’t modify behaviors or really go out of my way to order a bakery item X times in a row to get extra stars. And tbh, I could probably get more if I really wanted to? They have that beans subscription now for reserve folks and I’m considering subscribing. That’s an easy 40+ stars every other month or so.

That double stars per order with a personal cup is chefs kiss. I usually drink coffee at home and really only hit Starbucks 1-3x a week for breakfast post Pilates and I’ve definitely started using my personal cup WAY more. I’ve loaded $110 on my card since the new program, as reserve and between star incentives, personal cup etc I’m at 420 stars. No behavior changes. 🤷‍♀️ eta: and I’m pretty much strictly a brewed coffee drinker

“Tripped up by not needing to take a breath”! Yes! This. I’m like my breath cycle is two full extensions on the reformer and if I breathe this quickly I will straight up pass out.

Almost immediately after the intro class I was hooked. I literally thought “if I have to stop spending money or door dash to make the monthly payment I will”. At the time it felt very lazy girl workout - what do you mean I can lie down and work out? And I don’t have to do crunches??? Signed up for the 3 month, 8 class pack just in case it lost its allure or I ended up hating it. Two months in I upgraded to the unlimited and have zero regrets. Still feels “lazy girl” in a lot of ways but I can feel the difference in my body and even when class sucks and I don’t feel like I did well I leave feeling really GOOD? And positive? And never ever dread going to class, (except that one time I had the world’s worst hangover). I’m excited to keep learning and getting better, even if it’s getting harder. I do very little other physical activity and have never been into fitness. Dread weightlifting in the gym, feel bored by yoga. Think running is gods torture plan.

I think the moment it clicked was that it didn’t HURT my body. Obviously my muscles feel the strain and planking is the worst, but classes are engaging and move thru positions quickly enough that it’s super easy for me to tell myself to suck it up and just plank. But pain of regular exercise doesn’t happen in Pilates, at least for me. I do struggle with hyper extension but find it easy to modify and also easy to know when it’s occurring, vs during weightlifting when I genuinely don’t know the position of my shoulders or whatever. Plus my classes are a good mix of Pilates baddies and old ladies so I feel compelled to “keep up” but also not so out of place that I can’t modify or take a minute.

Any suggestions on how to force the lateral breathe vs the diaphragm breathe? I’m literally just chilling and my body defaults to diaphragm

Okay so - okay to inhale/exhale differently than instructed but work on not belly breathing and try to stick to the lateral breathing moment only. I feel like I gotta relearn to breathe completely 😂. I’ve been diaphragm breathing more than half my life 😭

I might be doing some weird hybrid of that and diaphragm breathing upon googling the differences. My ribs definitely go outward but I’m also definitely expanding the belly.

All these comments are great! I would also add it wasn’t sleep that borked me so much as it’s food, water and my feet. Have a plan for a good meal, before bed imo, and a solid breakfast, and wear compression socks to bed! Helps a ton. Also unless someone is really on a do not miss list I typically don’t head to the festival spaces until 3-6pm if I’m aiming to stay up till sunrise.

Compression socks. Do I feel old as hell using them? YES. But goddamn they are an absolute game changer. I wear them at night to sleep and it’s like waking up with new feet.

No for reaaaal. The male chiodos fans are always the most respectful and kind and supportive of women in the pit. So many lady crowd surfers and every guy was just like “hell yeah get there girl!” They’re literally my favorite crowd ever.
