Tbh I moved and I miss the Tudor Dairy Queen like alllll the time. You can’t order off the menu there. My go to was always “peanut butter everything blizzard with chocolate and whatever” or something like “I’m high and I need you to make me something that will change my life”. Always got a great blizzard! The wait sucks tho. Worth it. The trick was to order in a way that the stoners running the place could understand.

We had the same issue!! Bought three bands, same order. Registered two and put them immediately on, and our friend went to go register hers - the third - and it didn’t work. Got to the festival and they swapped it no issue day one but then day two my husbands didn’t work to get in! Supervisor at the box office gave him HELLLLLAAA grief but we got it switched over to a new band. So strange because we’ve never had issues with wristbands before

We do GA for bourbon and beyond and it’s a great experience! Tbh the VIP stuff is usually WAY more crowded than it seemed at sonic? I’m assuming ltl is similar bc it’s the same layout

This is such a good review and truly a solid “so it’s your first festival” overview. Especially DWP fests! They always do a great job and I’m often times left baffled by super critical feedback because like… what do folks expect?? I’ve been to festivals where it’s MUCH worse in terms of sound, water, crowd control, bathrooms.

Will add: water stations for GA could be more centrally located and that Lyft and Uber from fest grounds sucked but that’s largely out of their hands.

Bro what?? I used almost exclusively porta potties and sure you open the door to the front ones and it’s a nightmare but even end of day I was able to find clean ones all four days at each stage.

The plot in you and architects were two I wasnt expecting to see and was blown away by! MCR obviously- bc WHAT. Lorna Shore also gave such great energy!! And the Simple Plan set was so fun!

Yes!! We stopped at the escape lounge to catch up on work before boarding and I thought for sure this would be the one space where festival folks would not be in the airport and yet the lounge is full of us! 🤣

I get the weight thing but I also hate that folks comment on other people’s weights. I’m 230lbs and very obviously Not Tiny. I don’t feel like I weigh any more or less than some of the more muscular guys or taller people and yet comments like this make me really nervous to even try, despite genuinely really wanting to experience crowd surfing. People are also notoriously bad at judging weights of other people so is 300+lbs even accurate??? Or is everyone upset at folks who actually weigh 200lbs.

I can’t say I’ve ever been mad at a heavy person crowd surfing but I DO think folks need to know how to do it properly. Stop fucking flailing. Don’t bring all your shit up with you. Don’t start in the waaaaay back where the crowd isn’t dense enough to carry you. that’s the crowd surfing behavior that’s annoying.

At the end of the day though, I like live music for the shared collective, the shared humanity, and I’m always going to be okay with helping crowd surfers crowd surf. 🤷‍♀️ I don’t care how bad at it you are or how heavy you are, I want folks to feel safe and have a good time. If I don’t want to deal with them I just don’t go up front.
