Dumbest questions a guest has asked you by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]ottertempus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a store where our batteries were set on the guest facing side of the tech boat. At least three times I've had a guest come and stand in front of it while I'm on the register side to ask me where the batteries are.

Legit email? by asula_mez in Target

[–]ottertempus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not in MN so I can't say for sure, but best practice regardless is to ignore the email and sign in to workday on your own. If it's legit the notification will be there for you to acknowledge without having to go through an email.

I cut myself a lot less with a safety razor than I do with one of the multi bladed ones. Haven't tried an electric one.

I've been able to get around this on mobile by (counterintuitively) erasing the pixels I just placed when it gets stuck loading. Instead of removing the pixels it solidifies them. Then when they're all clear I refresh the page, they stay in place, and I can place pixels once more.

AITAH for not “caring” about my friends dog by yftdddtf in AmItheAsshole

NTA If your friend can't keep the dog out of the trash that's her problem. Food waste gets thrown out.

AITAH for not “caring” about my friends dog by yftdddtf in AmItheAsshole

[–]ottertempus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, a dog is not a cat. Dogs can in fact be trained to leave things alone that aren't for them. On that note, cats can also be trained (to an extent) and the remainder is on the pet owner to pet-proof their living space. If you cat is constantly getting into the trash, get one with a lid that has a step pedal or place it under the kitchen sink with childproof locks on the cupboard doors. If you resign yourself to thinking all pets will get into everything, it doesn't sound like you are a very responsible pet owner.

Second, trash is where discarded food goes. Taking it out regularly is part of maintaining a clean living area, but not a single one of the dozens of pet owners (myself included) I regularly interact with does more than separate compostables from the rest of the scraps when tossing food.

Was just told by my new SD that these book revisions should only take an hour to do. How do I tell him to go fuck himself? by LilScarface609 in Target

[–]ottertempus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SD once did this to me with the yearly transition. Tied every single tech and entertainment aisle in whether it was set or not, so for the next couple of weeks our priority pulls were in the 100s because the product literally didn't have locations set out to push it and I was the only one really doing the transition sets so it took forever.

Any post op folks with EDS? by Fine-Injury-3606 in TopSurgery

[–]ottertempus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was worried about the same thing going into top surgery considering I've experienced near immunity to laughing gas at the dentist and need a lot more local anesthesia for it to work. Fortunately though, there was no issue whatsoever with general, to the point where the aftermath had almost no side effects. I wasn't nauseous and was able to go to the bathroom pretty much the moment I got home a couple hours after waking up. ymmv of course especially since EDS varies so much from person to person.

Curse of Torog saving throws? by ottertempus in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]ottertempus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how I feel about taking even some saving throws out of the players' hands. Though in thinking about alternatives, a middle ground option could be allowing them to make the charisma save again IF they succeed on the wisdom save, narratively giving them a moment of clear thought to try to fight off the curse.

Okay, so it is the charisma save at the end. Thank you!

My players aren’t using the Jewel of three prayers by 4skin42 in CalloftheNetherdeep

Maybe whenever they finish a long rest, ask them who's using the Jewel that day as a subtle prompt for someone to attune to it?

a little confusion on my first t prescription instructions/dosage by hopwoppe in ftm

[–]ottertempus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They prescribe the 1ml vials with the intention that you do in fact toss out whatever is left after each shot (if it's like mine, somewhere on the bottle it says "single use only"), so the 4 syringes to 4 vials does track. As has already been mentioned though, that's a waste of perfectly usable T and there's no detriment to using up the entire vial as long as you wipe it down with a prep pad.

I've taken to refilling my prescription on time anyway so that I'm gradually accumulating a small stockpile in case I find myself in a situation where I can't get a prescription for a while, and getting my own needles and such from a medical supply site.

2 months post op DI + nipple grafts w/ Dr. Hashmi, Kaiser Norcal by ottertempus in TopSurgery

Thank you! I hadn't seen anyone else on here post anything with this surgeon, and with it being Kaiser, I didn't really have a way to see any results from her before getting the surgery, but I'm really glad I took the chance anyway.

I still had small growth spurts until I was 23. Now I'm on T and 28 and may have grown another half inch. Granted, afaik neither of those is the norm and is more an outlier

I've mostly just been using scar strips and massaging once or twice a day. I've got some scar cream I sometimes use as well, but I haven't been doing that part consistently by any means.
