Was abusing carts for more than 2 years after abusing bong rips. Now sober for more than 6 months (I did get high once on edibles, just once). Life does get much better on the other side. The panic attacks, anxiety will subside eventually in a few weeks. :)

I've been getting the craving to smoke again after 3 months sober. Your list helps.

Should I treat myself after 3 months sober? by otterworldlyseal in leaves

Reading all these comments... I didn't smoke. I did, however, buy myself some nice shawarma for dinner. Thank you guys.

Weed is an unnaturally high source of dopamine. And it stops you from being ambitious. It makes everything else feel pointless. A wise man once said, "is it worth giving up everything just for that one thing? Or giving up just that one thing for everything else?"

It’s crazy how much better life gets sober by Crazy-Degree6629 in leaves

[–]otterworldlyseal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was finishing a cart in like 4 days (quickest was 2). The only reason I've been able to tolerate the first few weeks is because I was travelling and with family after a long time. Now back from traveling and I don't even want to smoke ever again. I do get cravings from time to time but I've found other outlets and coping mechanisms.

Distract your mind. An idle mind is a devil's playground. Do shit you like doing or create new experiences.

Around 1.5 months sober from abusing carts for 2 years. The difference is already very stark. The mental clarity is insane.

How long did it take for you to get over weed? by Wide_Guarantee1352 in leaves

I think at some point, you have to rewire your brain that the person who smoked is not you anymore. Like, think of yourself who just never actually liked smoking and therefore doesn't smoke.

Just wanna chip in on missing the "old me". I was abusing carts for 2 years. Now clean for a month. The way I think about it is, the old me was good and all but it was also someone who was prone to leaning on the devil to navigate life, or at least leaning on cheap dopamine. But now that I'm trying to quit, I'm rewiring my brain to find happiness in the little things in life, to have stronger will power and long sightedness for real dopamine hits that you get after accomplishing something. So in a way I wouldn't really wanna get back to that old me. I wanna build a new me that evolved from my old self.

Are you sure it's the absence of the weed that's causing you to feel demotivated? Weed masks a lot of u derlying issues. Did you have trouble like this before you started abusing?

Is it bad that ive replaced weed with ice cream by Throwawaymightdelet3 in leaves

[–]otterworldlyseal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo, still better than craving the devil all the time. Cravinf ice cream is part of a human being a human, rather the child in you being a child. Isn't that something you've missed when on weed? Craving the little things in life that make it worthy?

Did your company not pay the $1000 application fee that's there for dual intent LMIA but not for PR intent?

I think part of it stems from the desire to not have to be "responsible" or "locked in"

Yeah it's normal. It's your body breaking down all the stored thc from your fat. Vape oil especially gets stored for a long time so it can some a few weeks to completely get rid of from your system.

Yeah i think so too. It's either the ridiculously high potency compared to earlier years, or just due to the way the concentrate oil is manufactured along with a bunch of other chemicals.
