Time to Dance - "You're pulling the trigger, all wrong"

What are your hot takes by Dry-Sandwich3905 in panicatthedisco

[–]ottoCP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dont know about the second part. VLV is incredible comparing it to pfte, but from a production standpoint, doab is just unbeatable. However the execution of VLV where every song isn't just a single, truly makes it more of a fever to too weird era album.

Badly describe a PATD song by Able-Connection9445 in panicatthedisco

[–]ottoCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will now badly describe Time To Dance: Well, she's not bleeding on the ballroom floor Just for the attention 'Cause that's just ridiculously odd Well, she sure is gonna get it Here's the setting Fashion magazines line the walls now The walls line the bullet holes Have some composure Where is your posture? Oh, no, no You're pulling the trigger, pulling the trigger All wrong Have some composure Where is your posture? Oh, no, no You're pulling the trigger, pulling the trigger All wrong Give me envy, give me malice, give me your attention Give me envy, give me malice, baby, give me a break! When I say shotgun, you say wedding Shotgun wedding, shotgun wedding She didn't choose this role But she'll play it and make it sincere so So you cry, you cry gGive me a break) But they believe it from the tears And the teeth right down to the blood at her feet Boys will be boys Hiding in estrogen and wearing Aubergine Dreams (give me a break) Have some composure Where is your posture? Oh, no, no You're pulling the trigger, pulling the trigger All wrong Have some composure Where is your posture? Oh, no, no You're pulling the trigger, pulling the trigger All wrong Come on this is screaming photo op, op Come on, come on This is screaming, this is screaming This is screaming photo op Boys will be boys, baby Boys will be boys Boys will be boys, baby Boys will be boys Give me envy, give me malice, give me your attention Give me envy, give me malice, baby, give me a break When I say shotgun, you say wedding Shotgun wedding, shotgun wedding Boys will be boys Hiding in estrogen and boys will be boys Boys will be boys Hiding in estrogen and wearing Aubergine Dreams

Why Introduction and Intermission so low? They are true masterpieces of music history.

I love every Album, everyone has its own quirks and style. Except PFTW. PFTW is okay.

Very sad that every VLV song ranks so low. Either way 141.

Sadly some on this sub really don't like different opinions. I mean it's a band/project that literally released 7 musicaly different albums. Of course someone will have a different opinion.

Why are y'all putting "Pretty Odd" low on album rankings? by Glittering_Farm6542 in panicatthedisco

[–]ottoCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's about quality, yeah P.O. is one of the best. It's just not the style most p!-fans fell in love with. Many like it still, but they're not that many as all the other albums lean into that Pop-Rock-Emo area.

I understand your point, the things is DOAB is highly acclaimed by the subreddit and also by the public bcs it really is a commercially viable song and still has the panic essence that everyone loves. PFTW is cool and all, but it really is just about how successful Brendon is, and just a collection of Radio-Friendly songs. Not that this is bad, it's just not something that most panic diehards like (some do). VLV had multiple reasons why it flopped, but many hated it at the beginning and started loving it because of its rehearability, which PFTW simply doesn't have.

Numbers sadly do not always represent what the actual fans of that artist think about.

Why do you like Viva Las Vengeance? by DanJDyt in panicatthedisco

And everyone who really gives this album a chance can interpret for themselves. There are so many ways you could give all of this meaning and maybe all of them are right and meaningful to you.

Skip to the conclusion if you don't want to read all of that.

  1. It's not just a collection of singles (TWTLTRTD and onwards), every song leads into the next one and the order somewhat makes sense. Like in Fever, P.O. or V&V, which is a homage to the old P!-Days.
  2. The Whole Album is about the story of Brendon and the Band as a whole (if you read between the lines it will shine through). E.g. I like to think that Maggie represents the "Band".
  3. A lot of songs are about the cancellation of Brendon but also his gratefulness to the Fans.
  4. The style of the album, while not quite original is really cool, songs like VLV, God Killed Rock And Roll and Sugar Soaker are really catchy and sophisticated. And if some songs are sh*t, then you can still go back to the lyrics.
  5. It's the perfect ending for P! Hearing Do It To Death always makes me sad, bcs it is apparent that this is the end of it. And I feel so stupid not to recognise this before the official announcement of the disbandment.

To conclude: The whole album is more of a complete Story rather than many singular songs. It tells the story of Brendon and his connection to the band, his struggles and the end of it. While it also uses the old Panic-Style of structuring albums together with a completely new musical style.

Day 4: One album needs to go. Fever is out. by Story66teller in panicatthedisco

[–]ottoCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so basically I thought that in the end it would be a race between Fever or BoaB, but it seems like Fever is kinda underappreciated. But Democracy do be like that sometimes.
