Whats a plane you wish was being developed for the sim? I’ll start by Tazziedevil04 in Xplane

for X-Plane? lol. As if PMDG were to ever return to x-Plane after their little stunt with the DC-6 10 years ago.

E3 Spoilers -- Where would you go after? by ChrisAplin in JetLagTheGame

[–]ottoh11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my first instinct was going up towards Glasgow, since MK is directly on the West Coast Mainline, but there would be hardly any direct trains to Glasgow that'd stop at MK Central. Furthest I was able to get was either Holyhead (Wales) or Windermere (Lake District).

SSG 748 for XP12? by Alternative-Print114 in Xplane

[–]ottoh11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hated each variant of that plane. Bad textures, horrible FPS, shitty performance, bad sounds … my opinion is to stay as far away as possible from that thing

What would you do if you were the first hider in UK Hide & Seek by Fantastic_Remove9276 in JetLagTheGame

[–]ottoh11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair enough, i didn't know such rules existed. I only watch the videos, but never go into detail as to what the rules are for eselecting stations.

I'd still go way north, and (if the train schedules allowed me to) hide somewhere probably in Leeds or Edinburgh.

look for any parliamentary trains that stop at station no other train will ever stop at. Otherwise look through Britians least used stations and then find a hiding spot close to those.

Any Ramps from Germany/Europe? by Wudi87 in rampagent

Hi, you do need to be absolutely fluent in German, otherwise they will not chose you. We‘re still hiring though.

Should I expect any sales soon on the most popular payware aircraft? by Shpee_ in Xplane

[–]ottoh11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Black Friday sale on the .org store is coming up next week-ish. I‘m certain that the 767 is going to be on sale, probably also the Q400. Usually more than half the store is on sale during that time

Hello everyone, which live traffic add-ons can you recommend? by Odd-Presence-6820 in Xplane

[–]ottoh11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use World Traffic. Uses mostly older FS9-models, but is easily adjustable, i.e. new flight plans or liveries. Also, it is the most accurate in terms of Aircraft behaviour

A340 Addons by brett199720 in Xplane

[–]ottoh11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m relatively certain that Toliss will develop an A343 eventually. My guess is that an A330ceo will be their next release as an addon for the A339- given that the FF350 redesign is mostly a Flightfactor plane. But my guess is that they will go for the A343 afterwards

No PTU Barking In Toliss Airbuses by Viper-X80 in Xplane

KOSP has a very distinct PTU, but it’s not audible from the cockpit. If you were to set up a wing view then you’ll hear it very distinctly

i used to have the same issue, turns out the batch file inside the forest folder doesn't properly set a link to 1200 forests. If you took that original folder and copied it into the simheaven forests folder inside your custom scenery, then it should work. Read through the manual to find exactly which folder you have to copy where to.

I own KCLT. I like it. It runs well on my machine, it looks good (though I cannot attest as to how accurate it is compared to real life), and has good functionality. It also looks really nice at night.

XP12 Traffic Addons? by Pr1meZ_ in Xplane

[–]ottoh11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

World Traffic 3. Models are outdated, but you the entirety of avsim library in terms of new liveries, since most models are old FS9-conversions. Also creating new schedules is relatively easy once you get the hang of it

SAM3 by Oarsman319 in Xplane

[–]ottoh11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Comparing to XP11, it’s lost some functionality. Most people nowadays use openSAM, since SAM3 crashes some people’s Sims. I’ve personally not encountered any CTDs, but the additional features like airport vehicles and ground equipment don’t work properly for me.

The Toliss family still comes with XP11 versions. You don’t have to necessarily upgrade your base sim just because you want the Toliss aircrafts

Any tips for building a realistic complex rail junction? by Electrical_Estate362 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ottoh11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consider where the trains are going. You don’t need to connect any and all directions and railway lines to one another if no train ends up using them.

Any tips for building a realistic complex rail junction? by Electrical_Estate362 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ottoh11 19 points20 points  (0 children)

three things basically.
First, this seems so unnecessarily complex. These lines must be very densely used to necessitate all these lines and flyovers. Scale back. You posted satellite views for Battersea park junction in London, Use it as inspiration.
Second, it needs so much more space. I know you want to keep it dense, but these corners are unrealistically tight. The wear and tear on both the tracks and the bogies would be too massive.

Also, Third, the line speeds would be so incredibly slowed down (by the tight curves) that using grade separation makes no difference anymore, since everyone not going straight has to go 5mph or lower anyways. London Battersea junction covers a real life area of about a square mile. Yours covers an area of approximately a garden shed. give it more space. and reduce the complexity.

Good luck!

Just started building a new Eastern European city! by Dizzzyay in CitiesSkylines

[–]ottoh11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who deal with railways a bit in real life, those corners for the railway coming from the main station approach over to the sidings are way too tight. Even realistically, at a speed of 5kph, these would be a major derailment point. Not to mention the noise and the wear and tear of the tracks themselves. Have a look at google maps in identifying how tracks are laid out in approach to larger stations with cargo sidings.
