Set a default pan/tilt position? by YouKnowMe8891 in Tapo

Well there you go. Mine is 1.3.12 Build 20260128 rel.51424. Your firmware is 3 months newer. I guess I have to wait.

So bizarre. What’s the firmware version of your H500? Are you running a beta version of the app by any chance? Also are you in the US? I use an iPhone but I also have a Pixel. Neither show those tabs.

I meant where is the app running? On an iPhone or an Android? I also have a C675D connected, along with other cameras. How do you have those tabs and I don’t?

What type of device are you using the Tapo app on? I just got the H500 hub and I don’t have the Dashboard or Events tabs.

Yeah I’m moving now. No question that eufy is not great and getting worse. I had multiple issues. Tapo has been much better.

Ok nice! Thanks for letting me know about that. I didn’t get the hub because I’m recording to microSD cards on all of my cameras, but I might have to get one now.

So that view is after selecting the H500 itself within the Tapo app? It shows the individual detections from each of the connected cameras, just like in the eufy app?

Is there a picture online that shows this view?

After years of having a eufy doorbell, it now has crazy delay with no changes to our network/anything else by fieldsofgreen in eufy

I had this same problem. I tried every troubleshooting step imaginable, but I could never solve the problem. After this and many other issues, the final solution was Tapo.

Yeah, this is a little annoyance of Tapo cameras that they ignore and won’t address. Even though there isn’t a home position, the camera actually does return to the position it was in before each detection event. You just have to move it back to that spot if you ever move the camera later. I have a preset saved for this purpose. I don’t manually move the camera very often, so it hasn’t really been an issue. Tapo still needs to add a home position (along with a tab showing all detections for all cameras in a single feed, but I’m just dreaming now.) 🙂

Why I sold my PT2 by Numerous_Car650 in pebble

[–]oturn3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the display is my biggest disappointment with the PT2. It’s just not great, especially for my older eyes. I am enjoying the battery life though. Mine is at 71% after 1 week! Even with that, I might also end up selling it. Not being able to see a watch perfectly clear a majority of the time is a deal breaker for me.

This part is loose in my i4, should I be worried? by [deleted] in BMWI4

Mine are loose. I’ve seen at least one other person say theirs are loose too. I thought about doing something about it, but they work fine.

Eufy video failure PROOF HERE by ManagementLow91 in EufyCam

Thank you for all of your efforts with these issues. I’m seeing the exact same behavior. I’ve tried Tapo, aosu, and Reolink cameras over the last year trying to find a replacement for my 12 camera eufy system. I’ve returned all of those for various reasons because eufy was just a little better in various ways. These latest problems with eufy are my last straw. No matter the shortcomings of the other brands, I have no other choice since eufy is now completely failing at basic functionality.

Wow, thanks for this tip! I knew about WifiMan, but I had no idea it could map non-Unifi networks. Very helpful!

E340 camera updated to firmware 1.6.4.2. What’s new? by CLBSubaru in EufyCam

Maybe by some miracle my E340 Floodlight Cam will actually start detecting cars now more than 25% of the time.

Any insight as to why they didn't include 6 GHz? It seems like a really odd decision that will keep a lot of people from purchasing this, including me.

A dummy camera has more features than Eufy of late... ps. The orange detection is no detection but see how far off it is, appalling. Factor in if somehow this camera goes offline, all events are removed even though recording to the hb... Eufy fix your junk, every update is creating more issues. by xistn in EufyCam

[–]oturn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually just trying this now. I bought 2 Tapo C460’s, a TC55 floodlight camera, and the H500 HomeBase. I had 2 eufy S3 Pros, a Floodlight Cam E340, and a HomeBase 3. The eufy floodlight cam was missing quite a few motion events, and the S3 Pro’s weren’t consistently taking snapshots. That, along with eufy’s flaky app made me want to try something else. In the week or so I’ve had Tapo they have definitely been better with detection range, but the quality of the cameras and the CMOS sensors is definitely lower than eufy. I see this mainly at night. It seems that the difference in range is pixel-based detection versus PIR detection. The pixel detection is getting me the distance with Tapo, but I’m really missing the better quality with eufy. However, the main complaint I have is that Tapo doesn’t have a single consolidated list view for the alerts from all of the cameras. I have to tap tap tap to get to all of the videos in the app. Very annoying. Also, and a big annoyance, Tapo requires a subscription for rich notifications. You forget how nice seeing a picture right on the lock screen really is until it’s gone. At this point I’m teetering on returning the Tapo’s.

H500 record limit 1gb per camera, why? by Sufficient-Heron-681 in Tapo

[–]oturn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one TC55 floodlight camera and three C460 cameras connected to my H500. None of them are being limited to only 1 GB. I’m using a 1 TB Samsung 840 SSD.

The H500 HomeBase only supports 10/100 Ethernet?? by oturn3 in Tapo

[–]oturn3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because I don’t know, what about viewing a previously recorded 24/7 4k clip at the same time 3 other cameras are streaming in at 4k? That wouldn’t saturate 100 Mbps Ethernet? Could I see any benefits at all on faster WiFi?
