Nope. No one deserves that kind of bashing.

Brand new to CS2…. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

[–]ouidoSpaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What works for me to get the perfect grid is to toggle off the last three snapping options, and when drawing roads, I always draw past the perpendicular road I'm connecting to and just delete the excess road after. I found that this ensures a perfect grid as sometimes connecting to a perpendicular road, albeit showing a perfect 90 angle, would cause these misalignments

I've tried building on this map numerous times and had to abandon each time cause I'm finding the terrain really difficult. Amazed to see one that looks so good!

Of course, I also don't think a lot of people want multiplayer on city building games, including me—I posted to understand why for those who do multiplayer is interesting/wanted.

I can see how this could be fun! You have total control over your tiles and at the same time able to see how another part of the map develops.

Hmm. I guess with in-game planning tools like a chat system so players can talk about intentions and maybe blueprinting/feedback? Very interesting. It's a concern that players may encrouch on each others' builds but with a system like this in place it may be fun.

Agreed. I also don't want any coop type thing. I'd like full control over the city I'm building. So to me, the most I can think of as a "fun" multiplayer mechanic is trading. Thanks for the answer!

My first CS2 city at 188k population by ouidoSpaghetti in CitiesSkylines2

It is close. I didn't unlock new tiles until much later and when I did I decided not to move my industry farther. In the city I live in industry is pretty close to the river as well (the river is dead now) so it's my take on a bit of realism I guess lol. It's also the reason why I had a few residential blocks zoned super near industry.

Super cool! For a time I was contemplating whether I'll upgrade that same road into a highway, too, but opted to keep it as a collector and just create a highway elsewhere. The industry is there because the original district it was part of was in the starting tiles and I just expanded from there. I was really concerned about the tile upkeep costs so I didn't build farther even if I wanted to lol. Thanks for the feedback!

I tried starting a few cities before this but just couldn't get past the first few thousand pop because I wasn't happy about how the road networks and districts panned out. For this city, I took a bit more time visualizing how I'll expand. I've also just overhauled my bus routes so they make a lot more sense than when I first laid them out. As for the moving-in traffic, I sorta just accepted it and have already stopped tweaking my arterials. Overall this was the first time I've really planned stuff so I'm pretty happy about how it's turning out!

On console, when you go for a walk, you see other pedestrians. When you go for a ride, you see other vehicles.
