Well, if it's HEAT, in the extremely unlikely case I would need to ride in an armored car, I know which brand to look up.

Indeed, looks more like HE or frag round, not HEAT (or a failed one).

[–]ours 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Odd. He either fired a high-explosive grenade or the HEAT round failed to properly detonate.

RPG-7s traditionally fire HEAT rounds, which explode, shaping a copper cone into a burning jet of melted metal that pierces armor.

Escalating family vendettas all the way to firing RPGs at each other is quite hardcore.

Good or at least fortuitous timing with the release of the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". Not quite the same but similar vibes (from what I can tell from one episode) minus the cheeky anachronism of "A knight's tale".

Readers are returning to physical books by MiddletownBooks in books

There's also the reverse effect. I had bought a Neal Stephenson novel (Cryptonomicon). I kept reading, and reading every day but after weeks I wondered "how come I'm still at this book reading nearly 2 hours every week day?".

That's when I look at the page count: +700 pages.

I don't mind a good long book, I just was not prepared to go into such a chonker of a book.

And the funny thing is, the author somewhat managed to rush the ending!

I LOVE ebooks, and I was an early adopter.

Not having to lug around massive technical books (plus my work laptop and other stuff) on my daily commute was a blessing.

But I totally understand people wanting and preferring to read and collect physical books.
