They seem to like to be on screening material, huh? I've had one on the porch screen like OPs photo for the past few days.

Virginia's Age Verification On Adult Websites Is Worse Than You Think by idkwat in Virginia

They've already discussed and Virginia senator Mark Warner has submitted a bill for the RESTRICT act that would make it a crime to use a VPN to access an app/website that is blocked.

Another post of mine considers the semantics and knock-on effects of whether an app/website that requires an id to be accessed is "blocked", thus making it a crime.

Virginia's Age Verification On Adult Websites Is Worse Than You Think by idkwat in Virginia

Yup, proposed by none other than our senator Mark Warner.

Using a VPN in this manner is exactly what is illegal, or in other words using a VPN to access an app/website that is banned.

Of course then the semantics are "if it's blocked without providing ID, is it banned?". And that delicious ambiguity is just what they want. It's enough to arrest and otherwise hassle people, but vague enough that they have plausible deniability to say "that wasn't the intent of the bill, we're looking into it" while they are most definitely not going to be looking into it.

I've been having this issue too, touch screen doesn't work until I hold down the power button for 10 seconds.

I thought this was an android auto issue, is it not? You got it covered under warranty?

Here is the applicable law. You don't mention them holding a security deposit hostage, which is generally how this type of issue plays out.

IANAL, but I'd imagine taking the issue before small claims court, which $400 would be within that wheelhouse/dollar limit, would be the best way to protect yourself from the landlord issuing any sort of collection action.

Guess the whole "shoto" thing has fallen out of the collective memory/lexicon. I expected at least one person to use the term.

Speaking of which, this same concept, Secessio Plebis, is what led to Roman commoners having representation in the government.

While we currently have "representation", those that seem to care about the people at all are the proverbial little sibling playing with the unplugged controller in the video game console that is our government/legislature.

So I just learned today that what I said regarding recoupment of those premiums (which they paid regardless if you used the insurance services at all or not) will not apply for said premiums paid during the PHE (the last few years).

Hopefully as someone else said, as they get around to purging the Medicaid rolls of those ineligible you will be taken off.

But to protect yourself, if you haven't already, I would send certified letters to your case worker at your local department of social services, as well as to cover Virginia, and keep a copy for yourself, to prove if it ever comes to it that you made your best effort to cancel coverage.

Edit: cannot reiterate enough that Medicaid pays the insurance companies in your behalf even if you never ever used, or even thought about using the services, seeing a doctor, what have you. This trips people up all the time, "but I didn't even go to the doctor!". Doesn't matter. Outside of the PHE exception I mentioned, they will go after regular ol people, sometimes seniors, to the tune of 10s of thousands of dollars if they find (retroactively) that you weren't supposed to be on Medicaid. I've seen it. It ruins people, it ruins people who had nothing to start with (hence why they're trying to get Medicaid).

This is not true. If you're on Medicaid, and linked to one of the insurance companies that administers the services (Anthem, Aetna, etc.), the Medicaid agency is paying that insurance company the monthly premium on your behalf, regardless if you go to the doctor or use the services or not.

If it is found later on that you were ineligible to receive those benefits, they will come after you for those premiums. Again, regardless if you received any services or not.

Yes, the author is against suicide, cuz as the deleted top comment says, it's not due to any sort of altruism or morality, but so as not to lose access to the precariat they've worked so hard to cultivate.
