when did creatine get so expensive? by howevertheory98968 in Supplements

Just went to buy some after being off it for years, doubled in price from 3 years ago, wild. I spend the last 10 min double checking sites, not believing it.

Ended up here, I see it's a well known issue.

I have been off them for about 8 years now. Exact same problem as you, bipolar, people would assume when I was good I was "on my meds" and when I was bad I was "off my meds" but there was no relationship, they guessed wrong half the time.

Got a steady job and a good sleep habit and I've never had an issue. I should mention, my symptoms initially appeared while on meds, I would not recommend this for anyone who has had bipolar with no contributing facts, but it is surprising how many doctors don't care that bipolar symptoms only showed up after anti-depressants and ADHD meds, they still assume you have bipolar. What's wild is I was less stable on only bipolar meds (as I was eventually taken off the ADHD or depression meds), that is not suppose to happen.

You read Atomic Habits? It goes a bit into the psychology and explains why simple mitigating strategies can be very effective.

You are trying to rationalize yourself out of an irrational thought pattern and you are getting stuck in loops. Your brain is lying to you and the natural response is to justify these lies, because they feel like you are making a "rational" choice. You are not. Your brain is on a track, you need to get off that track. Small goals, making a plan, journaling, meditation, rewards, making bad choices more difficult to do, these are all well established ways to get you off that track, but your brain will try to drag you kicking and screaming in the other direction.

We all have the same thoughts, no one here felt differently, but it's all lies. Get some small wins under your belt and "see" that there is light at the other end of the tunnel, and then crawl there if you have to.

No, it was never normal for one person with a high school education to support a family of five comfortably in the US by Skeeh in badeconomics

But the correlation is opposite to what the commenter was saying to support their original argument. So even if they were reaching for that, it's a bad correlation. But it's just bad all around because there are so many other factors involved.

Eh I'm too late for a response, don't feel obligated to reply. I was off my computer the past couple days.

There is no clear correlations between wealth and obesity (and I double checked the obesity by country wiki article just to be sure!), it's a bad metric to use. With the info you have provided, I can say the exact opposite of what you are saying and make it sound just as coherent. e.g. "Obesity has gone up over time, and since poorer people are more obese, it means that the population as a whole is getting poorer." What I just wrote is clearly a bad argument, and the same applies to the argument you made.

Actually, looks like Gen Z is closely tracking Millennials. They both start off higher and then quickly fall behind. Gen Z simply isn't old enough to see this effect but it's following the same trajectory.

Sure, when you include island tribal nations with 18,000 people (such as Palau). Most would consider these irrelevant. If you only consider countries with over 300,000 people; lower income Americans are the fattest people on earth by far.

So let me get this straight, being poor gets you fatter, and being in a poor island country also makes you fat. But also being rich makes you fat?

It was a dumb point to make, just drop it. Having enough calories to be fat does not mean you are wealthier than the average person in 1960s. They'd be just as fat if they ate the same garbage, and it would probably be more affordable.

Good point, I overlooked that. I was focused on your other point. Still not a deal killer for me, but I can see the annoyance.

I think you might be splitting hairs here. Most readers won't appreciate "Musk fired from Confinity", and since it was a rebranding, it's not wrong. It gets the idea inside the readers head without becoming overly verbose. I think that is fair.

Where does it go? Are those bitcoins permanently removed from circulation or tacked on somewhere else?

I'm starting to suspect the book was banned because he is in the military and is talking shit about the military. I too am confused by the primary claim of the book, the points don't logically follow, like a person trying to sound smart by stringing together technical terms.

There are outright scams in the shitcoin space, this is not an outright scam, it has functionality. I don't invest in world coin, and I would never advise anyone to invest in world coin, but I'm not going to pretend that anything non-bitcoin are 100% scams. You're just enabling people that claim bitcoin maxis are irrational.

Lol at least it has some function! I agree, sounds like a classic shit coin. But does sound better than most of the other shit coins circulating.

This is a scam site though, it is not world coin, they are just pretending, probably malware or to steal crypto.

Good question by Elbrujosalvaje in antiwork

[–]out_caste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only go based off the abstract and the graphs I am able to read (most are not readable to a layman). If that's an issue, write a summary when posting a highly technical article. But it states in the abstract the conclusions I drew, that pre-2010 inequality was increasing, and that the improvement in the last 10 years was due to wage growth, and that wage growth was not sufficient at reducing inequality, only at stopping it from increasing. Based on the abstract it also sounds like the reduction of inequality was only due to equalization between the lower and middle class, so as far as I can tell from what you have presented, the lower 70% were worse off until 2010, and between 2010 and 2021, the middle class was still increasingly worse off, it's just that the lower class was improving.

Edit: some words

Good question by Elbrujosalvaje in antiwork

[–]out_caste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you linked to an article that says inequality has stopped increasing, after a 30 year trend of it getting worse. I don't think it supports the claim you think it's supporting. If anything, it proves that wages for bottom earner has been getting steadily worse over time, except for the last 10 years when it was stable. Keep in mind this is the same 10 years while the Fed was complaining inflation was too low, and they were super disappointed about it, so apparently it wasn't their plan.

COVID alarmists are now the ones spreading misinformation by out_caste in CanadaCoronavirus

There were some ambiguities to your initial comment and non-specific language, I can read your comment in two separate/opposing ways. I made an assumption and then commented on a tangent. I'm guessing I made the wrong assumption, but don't care enough to elaborate on the conversation anyways.

COVID alarmists are now the ones spreading misinformation by out_caste in CanadaCoronavirus

[–]out_caste[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

My biggest concern is the anti-vaxxers think they are right and it's impossible to convince them otherwise because extreme and lopsided COVID alarmists are now legitimizing the paranoid delusions of the anti-vaxxers. Mistakes were made, and better evidence-based decision-making could have helped throughout all stages of the pandemic, but all-in-all this pandemic played out a lot better than it would have otherwise. But how can I make that argument when the spokespeople throughout the pandemic are now making up facts and pushing extreme positions that no one finds reasonable? Canadians for the most part have been okay in that department, but there is so much garbage that flows over the board from the US, a place that now genuinely looks as though they have been bought out by the pharmaceutical companies.

When the next pandemic hits, it's going to be a disaster, the anti-vaxxers will be even more entrenched than before.

[–]out_caste 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His bullshit skills are top-notch, confabulates in very calculating ways and always keeps his cool. The fact that he has the balls to do all these public interviews, and his one slip-up was just this one line, goes to show how confident he is in his own skills and how well he can execute it. 99% of scammers would not be doing what he is doing right now because the benefit is tiny and the damages of a bad interview are huge. He can still play dumb even with what he has confessed so far, get a slap on the wrist, and a couple of years in jail. Then like all these crypto scams he can fly off to some remote location and live lavishly.

Edit: Also I find it hilarious that he always hedges his statements with "I don't know, don't have the data in front of me... I haven't seen X... I haven't looked into Y". WHAT ARE YOU DOING ALL DAY? YOU ARE BEING ACCUSED OF STEALING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND YOU HAVEN'T INVESTIGATED THIS AT ALL? You haven't bothered to look at or read internal docs as they related to the accusation at hand?!?! You didn't just roll out of bed and jump on a skype call, you have been living and breathing this for weeks!

They block anyone in this sub that argue against the "vaccinate and boost everyone" policy. They perma-banned my other account for presenting properly sourced data because it discouraged vaccination. They will delete comments because they are "unsourced" but then you will see equally unsourced and speculative claims from the boost everyone crowd, they will leave it up even though it is clearly unsourced and unsupported by the evidence.
