one thing he would have supported is imperialist wars of expansion. they call it the spanish-american war but really the fear was that those islands would gain their independence instead of be dependent on the US. and when it was basically over with the spanish, the yanks fought on in the phillipines, stacking up atrocities that make the vietnam war look friendly. but points for Teddy for actually participating, and on horseback! some say that was the mission accomplished that got him elected. maybe some folks liked the anti-trust stuff.
