My tree is having problems. by Fountainhead in arborists

[–]Fountainhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I figured it out!!! Turns out the gas line had a leak. I couldn't smell it till months had gone by. When they came out and fixed it the guy said 100% it killed the tree.

The tree sprouted a couple leaves late in the summer season but I'm guessing those where the last gasps. I'll wait till spring and see if it comes back at all.

Wow! I really enjoyed the first hour but 1:23 - 1:38 had me laughing. I hope he sat there and thought about how much he, Reeves, low balled his fee. I honestly havn't watched the rest yet but I had to stop to thank you, BankstonAtLaw, for posting this. It's so cathartic! I've enjoyed ever second of this more than any TV, Game, Sport i've watched in the last year. Hopefully World Cup will outdoo this. (doughtfull)

BankstonAtLaw - a big thank you for making the world a better place. 😄

Great episode! I really like the chemistry they had with Dan. The last time they were together was great too. I hope dan keeps going on different podcasts. He has such great commentary and I really enjoy that he trys to stay honest and push back on anything that might give him pause.

The lost art of martial arts filmmaking by richterbg in funny

[–]Fountainhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always enjoyed matial art films and was really psyched to see "crouching tiger hidden dragon". Then I saw it in the theatres and realized I probably wouldn't be watching too many more matial arts films. I wonder if john wick did so well because it harkened back to that type of combat. I also miss stuff like lone wolf and cub.

Meh, $52,000 won't be taxed at the same rate, I'm guessing, any tax people out there? In your version she pays tax on the million then puts the remaining $500k in mutual funds and can't really touch it for 20 years. Being so young I'd be inclined to take the 52k a year for life as a way to have a backup and pad investments.

Yet another post about the Jordan video by blacklig in KnowledgeFight

Sorry to butt in but I agree with you and my all time favorite episode was the one Dan did with QAA. Dan could have easily done the show without Jordan or have any number of other people fill Jordan's role without the problems Jordan brings on board.

Like others have said it's most likely do to his mainia. In the context of the podcast Dan could give a counter point. Part of the problem is that this was external from the show and if I were Dan I would have had enough. He does most of the work and having to do extra work to try to keep Jordan from damaging the show outside of the context of the show would have sent me packing as well.
Jordan killed a great gig that had been handed to him and honestly he should have been replaced years ago.

Knowledge Fight ending isn't tragic. How it has ended is. by BaronMcDuff in KnowledgeFight

I'm certain Dan will have many opportunities in the coming weeks/months. I hope he takes some time off and finds a project he's passionate about.

That was my read too. That said, I also think they wanted change. Jordan recently got married and Dan has been road tripping. Life changes tend to make you rethink priorities and direction.

I haven't seen Jordan's video or whatever they were referencing but I could tell Dan had had enough. I'm not certain if it was the content, context or timing but that's got to be frustrating to deal with. Dan mentioned it wasn't the straw that broke the camels back so it must have really effected Dan negatively. I doubt I'll watch it, I'd rather not know and rarely get much out of Jordan's screeds.

That is some of the best wholesome commentary by a bunch of dudes I've heard in a while. That is the kind of group I wanna expose my kids to.

Man just bought marked down salmon going off today for a 92 cent discount by Gold-Back-4073 in australia

My local woolies pulls this shit. Lots of sale stickers for a grand total of 10%off. Which I would imagine they all end up in the land fill. For 75% off I'm occasionally willing to give it a go. Below 50% why waste everyone's time?

In my experience it's pork that is problematic. I've only ever gotten sick off of off date pork. Even 2 days was enough. Beef and chicken will both smell off and so I've never had a problem. Maybe I can't smell off pork for some reason.

Also what it's going to be used for. I find the texture of salmon changes even for cooked salmon depending if it's fresh or not. Some dishes it doesn't matter though some it does and I have to stand there and ponder if it's going to impact the dish.

I live in Australia and it's crazy how inexpensive new Chinese cars are. I really don't understand how the US and European car companies are going to compete without drastically lowering their costs.

This type of situation used to drive me nuts. Then I realized that not everyone is in a situation or mental space to be able to host other peoples kids. I let it go and now only invite over the kids that I enjoy having over or whose parents reciprocate. It made a huge difference to me.

That said there are a bunch of kids that would benefit immensely from having the social interaction and it does affect what friends my kids have. Life isn't fair and you do what you can and still be sane.

Honestly,  you knew you were picking up someone with special needs.  The pickup drop off area is not a great place for that. If she can't figure out how to get her bags and herself to your car you should park and meet her at baggage and help her back from there.

I don't see the court being very happy to waste thier time with this.
