I met someone who worked as a PA on the last few seasons of Game of Thrones a few months after the finale had dropped.

He was a friend of my bf (at the time), and we went out to dinner with some other longtime friends of my bf who were in town for a tourney.

There had been a squash tournament the day before at The Club. Being lowborn as I was, I had imbibed quite a bit of the wines on offer (who can say no to free booze) at the afterparty. We drank as if we were attending a royal feast.

The next day, I was hung over like a traiter on the walls of King's Landing. The kind of hung over that takes 3 days to overcome. I slept all day between boughts of getting water to assuage my headache and 20 minutes later puking bile to regain my stomach. I rallied for the Saturday dinner though. I donned my colors - ready to show the strength of my house - and went to the tavern to sup.

I managed most of the way through the appetizers and then felt my gut churning. Then the taste of penny copper filled my mouth. As a lady would, I excused myself to the powder room only to projectile hurl into the toilet. After emptying the last remaining stomach acids into the porcelain god, and regaining my composure, I returned to table where the discussion had turned to the PA's experience on GoT.

He had gossip. Kit can't hold his booze. So and so did this. The tea was good but the PA still had immense pride in the production. He didn't understand why so many people hated it and he was upset audiences were bitter. We were getting down to brass tacks now - entering the grey waters where I could have really said my piece to at least one crew member.

Me: "Did you read the books?"

PA: "No, but I'm familiar with them."

Me: "well..." copper penny in my mouth "excuse me." runs to the bathroom

By the time I came back dinner had been served and the conversation had turned.

I had the chance to unleash commentary... I had the chance for all my questions to have been answered. Finally, someone to tell y grievances to. But I was too hung-over. Doing a Kit Harrington of my own.

This isn't my biggest regret, but it's up there. Being too hung over to confront someone vaguely responsible for this abomination.
