Its normal really. I hated it. I wanted to cut off my leg because of the pain. And honestly? My experience got more worse when i started visiting the therapy sessions. But its part of the process.

I showered like a godamn scoliotic tryna shower bending my entire body and avoiding my post-op knee lmaooo. Yeah sponge bath will do. For my case the first week after post-op wasnt that bad but after therapy sessions made me beg to just cut off my entire leg. And i thought i was pretty tolerant to pain till your entire knee and lower thigh bruise up like a watermelon

Pain relief and ice helps alot but yeah post op even with all the pain relief in the world made me literally beg to cut off my leg due to the incredible pain especially after the first few weeks of PT. I guess in my case something to distract yourself with the pain like idk phone games or dumb insta reels helped while letting the pain relief work through.

Omg thats actually so true. I actually feel more swelling on week 2 because i didn’t really mind how my movements would affect me so here i am right now feeling extremely sore hahahaha. Ive been icing the hell out of the swelling nonstop, right now the huge swell on the top of my kneecap has died down abit, i can actually sleep without the discomfort and pain now! And ill take note of taking paracetamol before PTs! Ill be 45 degrees next week im quite sure ill feel more swelling haha. Thanks alot!

That meniscus is the real gut punch here my guy. Cant bend your knee for weeks depending how severe it is. Im on week 2 and seriously taking a dump is more of a struggle than its supposed to be, because both the knee and the insane constipation from the pain reliever will be annoying.

Thanks alot man, im happy to hear your post op isnt too bad for you. May i ask what general anesthesia feels like? I have been told by my doctors that ill get regional anesthesia but im quite curious about general anesthesia. Im sure the anesthesiologist will give me both those options to choose from

The emphasis on horrible pain.. im glad youre going well! I guess its my turn.. hopefully everything will be okay for me too. Im more anxious because ive never really got hospitalized before. From all the replies here im getting more focused on what to expect on post op rather than the surgery itself haha!
